+1 from me as well. Thank you Rob.

Also congratulations for running the Target Darts Harlow Open and Grand Prix Series. Its great to see a major company giving back something to the sport that helps out the lower level players.

Just had a response from our designer - we have no current plans to launch a STORM point with board grip. Sorry for any inconvenience.

What I will do though is take all product ideas from this thread and submit them to our designer for consideration at our next product meeting. Then hopefully it will expand some more light on what and why we design certain products.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again rob.

Im gonna be a bit cheeky with my next question, but if you dont ask you dont get.

At our forum day out next year, will there be any chance of some freebies for the forum members? Or possibly a prize for a couple of us who win any comps we may have that day?

Hi Rob,

I am a recent Target convert, having recently purchased some Tony O'Shea Black Pro Stone darts and today had a set of the new Scott Rand darts. I have to say that they are both lovely darts!!

What I was wondering though is why the darts don't come with any kind of a wallet?

Regards,

Danny

Fox - I'm sure this won't be a problem. Given a set date (now looking like June 15th I believe?) we can plan well in advance. We will look to bring some giveaway stuff as well as products for people to try out and have a practice with.

As planned, it would be a great opportunity for people to meet and exchange details and also try a barrel that they like to see what it feels like (or shafts etc).

Hi Danny - thanks for the question. Glad you like our O'Shea/Storm darts. This is a very popular question that we receive and we completely understand the reason why people feel frustrated with this - however, our brand is all about making precision darts and striving for perfection; especially with our high-end barrels. Considering this, we feel it would cheapen the product by including a standard tri-fold case with them (the same case included in our PLAY range) - we think they deserve a high-end wallet, which is why offer them as separate products. Also, market research shows that players who buy our darts already own a good case, so there is less reason to include a cheaper tri-fold case.

It is an issue that is always up for consideration - something that we may begin to implement. Hope this helps?

Thanks Rob. It doesnt frustrate me, I just wondered why really. I don't mind tri fold wallets and already own a decent case so it doesn't really affect me. One thing is for sure I cannot stand naff plastic hard cases, I would certainly rather have nothing than one of those!!

Hi Rob,

Totally agree with your point regarding the wallets with your darts as most players have there own. Just an idea ive always thought though regarding this for players that do want a wallet is by doing a discount voucher/code with your darts (maybe a deal through certain Target product distributors). I brought a set of Carrera darts last week and it could have had a £10 code off the Carrera wallet for example or in normal cases for your other darts it could be £2.50 off any wallet or £5 off a Target branded wallet.

Regards
Chris

Hi rob, me again!

Are there any plans to make some of your soft tip range into steel tip (and vice versa). Specifially the Target Distinction range?

Thanks, again

Hi all,

Hope you've had a good weekend. Many thanks for your questions Smile

Hi Getagrip - apologies, must have missed that one by mistake! All of our barrels are designed with the weight in mind - they aren't just machined at random. Sometimes it takes two or three sample barrels to get to the right weight, but it's all part of the design process and aimed at keeping the balance of the dart as close to perfection as possible.

Hello Wattsdarts - I will pass your idea on to our sales manager and see what they say first.

Morning Fox - at the moment there are no plans to make our soft-tip range into steel tip, including distinction - although new products are always up for discussion. Hope this helps.

Many thanks everyone Smile

Cheers Rob, so there is still an element of trial and error involved to get the perfect balance, would love for Target to do a video of the process involved would be very interesting, or is that a secret?

Hi rob

How do Target go about deciding who they sponsor and who they feel doesnt make the cut anymore (Mcdine/Gray). Do you have a team of talent scouts?

Hi Fox

Many thanks for the question. We've got a good family here at Target and we look at signing the right players together. It isn't just based on ability, but other factors such as public image as well - so a whole host of angles are considered. Unfortunately we don't have a team of 'scouts' as it were, but we also enjoy looking for new talent.

Hope this helps!
