OK lads....most of you will be aware that I have been practicing really hard and seem to be playing as well as I have ever played.....so I was looking forward to entering the first singles competition of the year in Shetland. There has been one player in Shetland that has won every single competition this current season...the man is on fire and playing great darts. Usually 90+ averages.

You know whatI'm going to say don't you....guess who drew him in the first round...me, but I love playing the best players 'cos you have nothing to loose.

Anyway after a very nerves first leg where we both had darts at double to win the leg....ai managed to sneak it and I relaxed into the game. I went on to win loosing only one leg to him. Best result for me ever. I still am extremely proud.

Next match I was on fire not loosing a leg and winning each leg in under 18 darts. 4 Max's and a 118 out.

Every thing went well until quarter finals when I was drawn against one of my team mates who is a excellent player.....better than me. In a close game the Only difference was a break in throw which he took from me. He went on to win semi loosing on one leg. I had to go after that as it was very late.

But It was a huge step and confidence boost for myself. I reckon my average was in the high 80's low 90's for the night. Doubles were good after the first nerves leg of the night.

Nice one - shame you lost to your teammate, but well done nonetheless. Must be a real confidence boost for the rest of the season beating the top guy as well.
