The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy in 5 parts by Douglas Adams:

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy
The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe
Life, The Universe And Everything
So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish
Mostly Harmless

I don't read a great deal but I like this series of books - they were even the first ones I got when I bought myself a kindle last year.

I haven't read any of his for a couple of years now but I also used to like the John Grisham books.

I tend to read books about specific subjects rather than novels. Like I will read lots of darts books, books on U.F.O.'s and books of General Interest such as the Q.I. books. Also like reading biographies too.

I don`t read fiction books, they have never floated my boat. Some of my favourite reads so far would be A brief history in time by Stephen Hawkings and Connections 1+2 by James Burke.

I can't point to a single book but I can say that I am a big fan of fantasy and fiction novels. Authors that I have enjoyed reading include Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, and Terry Brooks. For those of you who know Terry Brooks I am aware that he is nothing like the first two authors I listed. He fits my enjoyment for fantasy where the others fiction.

No Colin, lost the energy. Actually SEASONS was published in 2000 and I already had finished the first, yet unpublished. Takes a great deal of patience and work. Harder than the actual writing. I've also developed SEASONS into a screenplay, but that never went anywhere either.

Thanks for asking.

Like everyone else, a single book is difficult to pick. Here are some authors I really like and a series or book I particularly like.
Shelby Foote - The Civil War (American)
David McCullough - John Adams
Roy Jenkins - Churchill
Jonathan Riley-Smith - The Crusades
Stephen King - The Dark Tower Series, The Stand
William Shakespeare - Much Ado About Nothing
JRR Tolkein - LOTR Trilogy
Frank Herbert - The Dune Chronicles
Michael Crichton - Eaters of the Dead
Tom Clancy - Red Storm Rising
Agatha Christie - all of the Poirot stories
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes
Jaroslav Hasek - The Good Soldier Svejk

Very cool. I read the Guide back in high school many moons ago. I should get them on Kindle too and reread them. I'm sure there was a lot that I didn't get the first time around. I enjoyed the tv series many years ago too.

I'm sure you read Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Daniken. I don't know if you get some version of the History Channel that we get, but there is a series on there called Ancient Aliens. Its about examining ancient monuments, archaeology, writings, etc. and explaining it through alien visitation and intervention. I think it's all a bunch of rubbish, but very interesting to listen to and debate.

I'm quite a fan of autobiographies (none of that Katie Price fake celeb crap though), specifically sportsmen and crime! This one is probably my favourite ever read.....

I am reading Wyatt Earp at present by Casey Terfertiller I think thats how its spelled.

Anyway the book is quite thick and very interesting so far, more so than the movies that portray him. Smile
