| Been using ally x-short since I started playing, but ran out of o-rings recently and wasn't going to make a whole order just for a few rings.
So I threw on a set of nylons that I got in a grab bag with my last dart purchase.
I'm in love. Robinhood: no problem. Much easier to get the flights back in (eyes are getting older), and I love the price of course.
I need to order a board surround, so I'm going to stock up on nylons, maybe get a flight punch and some rings.
I tried the cosmos and laros and they're just soooo expensive. I cut up the first set of cosmos in less than an hour and wile I love the laros because they make the dart just ZOOM at the board somehow, I just can not get on with spinners for some reason.

One thing that really annoys me about stems, in particular the Unicorn Gripper II is when they are not flush with the barrell, seems to be a slight lip when i put them on some of my darts, don't like it at all. Is this a common problem with these stems or is it just the darts i'm using them with? I generally use quite slim barrelled darts.
I have experienced that lip too with those stems, makes me wonder if they designed them for specific barrels? Since this post I've had experience of using with different darts. Heres what I've found; Unicorn barrels will generally fit Gripper IIs perfectly with the exception of Nicholsons (only 5.9mm width). Some Gripper II stems fit other branded darts perfectly but I've noticed that not all stems appear to be identical, as in, some Grippers fit flush with the barrel, others don't. Very strange. All the Deflectagrips i've used fit pretty much all barrels much more consistently than Grippers IIs except the Nicholsons. So go for standard nylon stems if you want them to sit flush I reckon. |
