i figure i'll keep most of my flight jibberjabber in this dedicated thread, and out of the general chat. i have some good stuff to share... for now i discovered a new benefit to being frugal. (when it comes to flights at least)
after trying numerous materials to make my own flights with (photo paper, alum cans, card stock, flimsy vinyl, and even laminating stuff in packing tape for durability)
i've found the perfect alternative. source was the black plastic trays microwaveable food comes in lol. PETE plastic. durable, light, stiff, and easy to cut w/ sissors. i'll let the pictures do the talking. i

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]now it's worth noting when using a compression spring + 2 piece flight there is some advantages over a flight that's one piece. compression spring keeps the two halves spine to spine to close the gap. and the other advantage i realized is in grouping. normally when flights interfere each other on the board one will fall off if the flight isn't locked in, or the dart will be deflected... now w/ 2 piece flights i realized this can happen.
