| Saw this brought up on another forum.
People were discussing the massive amount of bounceouts we've seen during the BDO World's. I have the same board and very rarely will i get a bounce out. Yet it seems like ALL players were getting their fair share of bounceouts the last few days. I attributed it to a bit of bad luck. Lot's of deflections ending up on the floor, etc... But than someone came along and said we didn't see anything like it at the PDC World's. That got me wondering. Could it be the boards?
Thoughts? |

| I think it's the players. If you look at player averages, the BDO players are regularly ten to twenty points lower than pdc players. Why is this relevant? Could be the result of bad decision making. Players being more stubborn and not dropping when blocking numbers. Could be unusual throwing styles too causing the boards to hit the board and wire at weird angles |

Naw, i don't think that's the case at all. It was happening to Wesley Harms quite a bit. The lad averaged near 100 in his last match. Was happening to Fitton quite a bit. Could be his throwing style, but it seemed like everyone was getting bounceouts. |

you have to hit the board in order to have a bounceout |

| All Grips are classed as Bounceouts since they hit the surrounding wall. |

| I play league on a blade 4 and get a few bounce outs. I manage to find the blades on a regular basis and end up on the floor.
I also find my throw at times leads to darts hitting the board at weird angles and bouncing out.
Then I get darts falling out because they catch a flight and lose power. |

| I noticed this also, and it wasn't just one player it was them all. I also have a blade 4 and hardly had a bounce out till the board got 8-10 month old. Then the wire starts to get worn and lose it clean blade edge. Even then I don't have that many bounce outs, just a few more. They tend to be more on the inner bull ring and outer bull ring. But these blade 4 board at the lakeside are changed very match. Seems very strange to me. As in the PDC there were hardly any bounce outs off the wire. I would have thought the Winmau board was a better quality than the Unicorn board, but it doesn't look that way. |

| ^^^ I agree SA. While watching today I noticed a fair share of bounce outs. The cameraman even zoomed up to one of the wires that took a hit.
On the stream today the broadcaster showed a classic Bristow/Lowe match from the 80's. Not a single bounce out from what I saw. Fast forward to the great boards of today and it seems like you'd see a bounce every set!!!
I own a Blade 4 and think it's the greatest thing ever. Like SA said, I'm also getting a few more bounces since it's getting old (6 months) but they are still fairly rare.
Watch the matches tomorrow and let's see what happens. Seems to me all players are having it happen to them. |

| Ive got a dreaded tennis elbow i think i suffer more bounce outs than most i had a brand new bulls board in 1 -14 leg match i suffered 17 bounce outs i was ready to throw the board out the window it made no differance what stems i tried nylon or metal I had 4 sets of new harrows darts they came with their own stems which i never tried my mate seen the harrows stems he was throwing well with them so i thought i would give them a try low and behold i hardly ever get a bounce out these days i even stuck up the bulls board and it was like magic no more bounce outs Ive tried all the boards i find the blade 4 to be the best by far [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
