| Yes its Phil Taylor. No matter if you like the man or not he is the Greatest now and will ever be. Reason I don't think his incredible records will ever be broken is that players coming up are so good that it would be much, much harder to dominant again like Phil has done. I remember last year he didn't win the Worlds but still won 4 majors and people writing him off. Many players never win 1 major their entire career yet Taylor won four and it was considered a bad year for him. Crazy man! Phil is the master of the masters no doubt and has made darts today more than anyone one of the great sports. I believe he has one more title (World ) left in him. I salute you Phil Taylor!

| Here here, I am not his biggest fan as a person but as a darter he is the best ever.
I think the game these days is more open, there are more avenues into the game and sponsors are lining up to sign the up and coming talent - more competition for honors, hence the sport is so much harder to dominate these days as it has been over the last 10-15 years. |

I salute you Phil Taylor! For me the only way to surpass Phils achievements is to reach perfection ( which is nigh on impossible ). Throughout his career he has been one step ahead of the opposition. In the 1990`s Tayor was pushing 100 averages and then the rest of the worlds elite throwers started pushing the ton average so Taylor pushed up to a 110 average......but when the power scorers were on form and hitting doubles they were close to 110 averages so Taylor started hitting averages above 110. He has spoken about wanting to hit an average of 120 which is taking the pee in my opinion but if he could bring his practice game to the stage then he would surely reach that target. Sid Waddell once told a story about how he went to talk to Taylor shortly before a premier league game. Sid said that he asked Phil a question and Phil started talking whilst continuing to practice before his match, Sid ignored what Taylor was saying and instead concentrated on Taylors throw. He said in 20 visits to the board Taylor hit 11 180`s which included 3 9 darters and he did that while slobbering about whatever subject they were talking about. If Taylor could bring that to the stage then 90% of the darting pro`s would sign a petition to have him assassinated. Taylor is unique, no sport star comes close to him. If you compared him to other sports, he`d make Lionel Messi look like Emile Heskey or Mike Tyson like Audrey Harrison. I truly believed in 2007 when Barney beat Taylor for the world title that a new reign of terror would be unleashed in the PDC. I was right, but wrong about who would unleash the fury. I though Barney was the new bees knees but Taylor did what he does best, he faced defeat head on, overcome it and destroyed Barney at every given opportunity until he turned Barney into a blithering idiot. Long live the man that should be knighted Sir Philip Taylor, as he is surely one of a kind in a man`s lifetime. ( Disclaimer... I`ve been on the Harp and Jack Daniels all day so any of the above that sounds like a drunken rant is probably just that. I aint so drunk that I need to sit down to pee but I`m still well oiled like. Peace out. Boom ) |

| +1! phil is only limited by his competition and he's gonna stay at the top until he feels there is someone worthy to pass the torch to. |

One of the things I do admire about Taylor is the way he constantly betters himself, I'm sure if humans lived longer and stayed youthful for longer he would easily get that regular 120 average and beyond. |

Boom ) After a premier league game earlier in the year Taylor said that Gary Anderson had hit nine or ten 9 dart legs in a row in the practice lounge! If Anderson could bring that form onto the stage then we'd have a new champ ;) The problem is that Taylor is the only player who has consistently brought his B+ or A game to the stage year after year after year......... no-one else can do that, Taylors mental toughness makes him the greatest Oh, and the Knighthood will never happen after his conviction for sexual assault, he was made an MBE in 2001 but it was later retracted after the conviction. |

| Phil taylors a great player dont get me wrong, but to claim that his records would be unbeaten is a bold claim. Bristow dominated before taylor and nobody thought that brissy's 6 world titles would be matched, let alone beaten. Before taylor came along, world championships were one with 90 averages, 180's were a rarity, let alone the elusive 9-dart leg. But Phil changed the game. BUT players coming up through the ranks now are getting better and better, hitting 180's for fun, and average 100-110 just for fun. I think it will be very likely that we'll see someone in the next few years that will dominate the game just as Phil has. I'd hoped it would be Barney or Anderson, but neither of them are playing as well as they can atm. The first time I saw Anderson play he averaged around 115, a one dart average of 38.33 Taylors record is around 117, one dart average of 39. Thats not a huge difference. I strongly believe that history WILL repeat itself and we'll see someone better than Phil come along very soon
I'd also just like to point out that Chisnall has never lost to Taylor |

| You reckon he's got another 9 years left in him? Nahh no way. He'll still be playing but running things? Doubt it highly, Phil loves the world of darts and he's gonna step aside sooner rather than later to let the fresh blood have a crack |

| i think he's got 15 years left if he wants it. Phil is a one-upper by nature and his only real competition is himself. the day taylor retires is the day that he puts the darts down for good. |

| I didnt say retire, I just dont see him being able to keep up with the new blood coming through. As i mentioned before Chisnall for one has never lost to phil, and there are certainly better players than Dave out there. |

| there is nothing in darts that would warrant age as being a factor in regards to keeping up. 60 is not old. phil has confessed that at times his eyesight has given him trouble but that can be easily fixed with lasic. chizzy shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as phil in regards to who is the better player. thats like trying to argue that buster douglass was a better fighter than mike tyson. rubbish |
