| Guess this is a topic will run and run as we all have different ideas about what we like and what we don't like and what works for me but may not for another etc etc.
In regards to the innovation im not convinced ive seen much in recent times which i regard as game changing or an improvement to whats currently on offer.
In regards to the fit flight system which ive not actually tried yet i don't think it would change my game and the system is over priced, not that keen on the target lock system and the flight punch stuff either and see no real improvements at all.
Ive seen very little in recent times in terms of anything ground breaking in the dart barrel and the various coatings are simply a choice some i like most i don't like and is simply a way of getting us to pay more money.
The Carrera target darts i like them a lot but apart from the grip nothing new but i do like them and have a set to try but £50.00 i don't see it so certinly haven't and wont pay that much especialy as there is no case but don't get me started on that one.
I could pick up a set of darts which are 10 years old and throw them as well as any new dart and the same goes with flights and stems, yes i like certain shapes etc but do they make any telling difference in regards to the materials used certinly not.
Just my own personal opinion. |

| Watsontotty, you make some good points. I do not think anything that has come out recently is "game changing". Some have increased consistency and durability and those are what I'm a fan of.
I do see over and over a common thread of price. To me darts is a very cheap game to play; especially compared to other hobbies (Golf, fishing.. etc..).
I do not mind spending a lot of money on something if it does two things. One, bring confidence to my game and two, last a long time. So to me spending $110 US on a set of dart that I expect to use for 5 or more years is a pretty cheap investment if my two expectations are met.
The win here for everyone is creating new things to try and discuss as well as attract new people to the game! |

| I agree jake8380 on the durability part but not sure about improved consistency though but that could be just me lol.
I buy and sell a lot of darts related products and swap also but thats a bit of a hobby of mine but i don't think i have a set of darts which ive ever used for more than say 2 years so i do watch the price and i wont pay over £40.00 for a set these days.
I also do like to try most new products as im a bit weird like that and apart from say trident 180 im not sure ive found anything to shout about. I do like to see what other people are using and trying out and i do find myself trying things other members have bought and liked. |

| That is what makes this game so great. The direct contradiction to the game. Some love buying and trying lots of different types of darts. I admit it is hard for me to resist. Looking at all the different shapes, groves, finishes and lengths, I find myself wanting to do the same.
Then the logical part of me kicks in. Little voice in my head that says what you have works and you've shot well with them. So I stick to what gives me consistency and confidence.
I think of pro golf players. Many really try to stick to what they know works for them and avoid changing, but then there is pressure from their sponsors to play and endorse new "improved" stuff that seems to come out every month! The smart ones do not do this, while the really smart ones get their sponsor to only slightly tweak what they currently use and make usually only cosmetic changes to meet half way.
Scores in golf have not drastically changed and the same can be said for darts.
I get to know my equipment so well that I can tell the difference even if there is a slight change in something (Golf and Darts). To me this is the most important.
This does not mean my way is the right way or for those that swap and switch that it is not right. It is what works for me and if switching and swapping works for you then run with it. |

| jake8380 I think that you make a lot of valuable points, and the key one for me relates to confidence in your game.
I think having a set of darts that you are confident in makes a big difference. On a couple of occasions I have played with darts that I liked, but there were a few doubts in my mind as to whether they were 'right' - the result, I was not confident in my ability using them and did not perform.
However, recently I have started using a set of darts that just feel right, and I am confident in my ability with them, and when I step up to the oche, I have confidence in my ability to score well with them, and I think that goes a long way. |

What are they, dont think I have seen them in the flesh? Consider yourself lucky. We had to deal with them for almost an entire decade here in he states. |

| Oh how about the magnetic darts? Supposed to improve your grouping; surely that has to be worth a try... Any takers?
Only reason I'd consider MP darts, is for ease of replacing a damaged point. Guess with my throwing soft tip darts for both game types, not something I have to worry about.

| I have some magnetic darts, another gimmick, only work if you group them close anyway so the magnetism is kind of redundant.
