i've signed up. i don't have webcam ,but will have one by the time everything is up and running. i hope it all works out.

Thanks guys! I have added a bit asking how many legs as a 'best of' for each match. Staying shy of 15 though, as that might take a while for some of us.

The more feedback/info the better/cooler/easier I can make this all work. If you like the idea please help spread the news.

I know there is a DartPro league already.. but getting that program to connect is a nightmare and the league seems slightly fussy (but not overly.) so I decided to try to make a league.

It could be a lot of fun if it works !!

Hope it all go's well for you mate, the time difference may cause a few issues but im sure they could be ironed out and something could be worked out to suit both parties.... I would be signing up but I dont have a cam, i'll maybe invest in one in the near future though.

Well people would play against other people in their time zone, so at least intheory that should work itself out. You do have me thinking though. I wonder if we'd be able to get a webcam sponsor or at least a discout for league members?

Might be something to look into!!

this sort of thing is great if it can be pulled off, its all down to the individuals though and been able to allocate the time and know when they are available, which is what usually results in problems to be honest.

I hope it works but as we already tried something similar here with the King Of The Hill, but it needs to have committed members to make it work.

They key to this, and much easier said than done is achieving a critical mass of active participants. This wont be easy at all to get off the ground but I'm hoping to prove that it is not impossible.
I think there can be a lot of value in something like this, both for individual players and for the game as a whole.

yeah for sure, should work well if enough people participate.

I have started a news/update page to better explain some of my thinking on getting this work and to get more ideas and input from all of you, especially those who have tried similar things in the past.

Ah, makes more sense that way.

Basically its a place to meet if you fancy a game of online darts.

The log in log off anytime nature is better, of course it will always rely on members taking part but not having to stick to a schedule is a good way to make it easier.

Are you thinking of creating a specific site to run it from?

Possibly, but for now I'll just do things from my blog site I suppose. :-)

If it did have a dedicated page it would need a cool name...or at least an easy to remember one!!

OK just a quick update that I want to do a little bit of play testing on this but was also hoping someone here might be able to help me out with some Skype info.

I know you can get skype buttons to chat with an individual, but is it possible to add a link to a website that would allow you to join a skype group from that link? I'm also looking but figure someone here might just know the answer!

Having this function would be a big help in getting this thing rolling so please let me know!!

OK, here is a quick update explaining how people can join up. Not quite as direct as I would have liked, but will be a start, especially if other people/sites/blogs/forums share the link. (or more specifically the button)
