never really scoped out the full cosmo line..had only seen sets advertised at around 10 bucks a set for flights or stems..all i can say is anyone that would pay, or even charge for that matter, well over a hundred dollars for a set of stems has lost their damn mind. thats all very drunk

Yes the titanium, duralmin (?) and magnesium stems are damned expensive - I reckon I'd only get a set of those if someone gave them to me for free.

They're crazy expensive, I could never justify that sort of money for stems

I won a set of Cosmo stems & flights in a comp and have to say they are nice and do hold their shape and last 4 a long time but the price is still way to expensive. I won slim flight with them and I use standard so had a few throws with them to try them but couldn't get on with slims. They do seem good though. My other issue with buying them other than the price is the limited colours, lots of pastels and clears so not to my taste. I would like to try them in standard though but need to win some more.

i agree gun about the colors. i lke clears but the pastels are a real turnoff...just look like easter bunny darts. even for the cheaper ones in the 10 dollar range, i have a hard time investing that kinda money into plastic. and honestly seeing gear priced that high turns me off from the whole brand.

Well I have used the gear shafts and they have broke and broken me heart. back to the regular stems of cosmo's. This am put a minin flight on just testing them and first throw broke a gear shaft. Can't afford that.

I broke one as well - dropped a dart while practising, stepped back to pick it up and stood on the bugger lol. Had quite a few bounceouts without any other breaks for the gears and I have a wooden floor whereas a couple of the normal Cosmo stems broke.

well my floor is tile and been using pears, and quite a few bounce outs, just believe that the smaller flight when hitting floor just doesn't protect the stem near as much. So have found smaller flights (pears,mini-standards) for me means a large increase in broken stems! Like the pears and mini's but gonna go back to standards for a while to see if I'm correct in my thinking.

There was a set of titanium Cosmos on Ebay with 4 sets of Air flights earlier - I won them for £22 plus £3 postage Very Happy Don't know when they will arrive as I only won them a short while ago.

Well looks like I almost lied - as the flights alone cost close to what I paid the titanium stems are near enough freebies Very Happy

Picked the new stems up this morning at the post office - must learn to read properly, they aren't the titaniums they are the aluminiums I won lol.

Still well pleased with the deal as the alu's are around the £70 mark a set on their own, and I got 4 sets of new flights as well all for £25.

Have got a match tonight so will post some pics tomorrow night when I'm sober!!!

I realised you may have made a mistake too Mike, as I had them in my watch list, and I thought I wonder if thats what Mike got. Still a good buy though.

Just got a result on some cosmos! Came up to Manchester for a family funeral and popped into the darts shop that I used to get all my gear from years ago. Anyway after chatting to the owner for a while I noticed he had some Cosmo stuff sitting on his shelf. He said it hadn't sold very well for him and he wouldn't be getting it back in because of the quantities he has to buy. Anyway he let me have two sets of fit flight airs and to packs of smokey black stems and charged me £10 for the lot. I was well happy with that!

Baffles me as to why the titanium stuff from Cosmo is so expensive.

I'm a titanium NUT!!! My favorite element on the chart. Atomic number 22.

I've built a bike from titanium, have a titanium wedding ring, almost got the number 22

tattoo'd on my body.

I buy a lot of titanium stuff from oversea's. Super cheap.

Yet these shafts are insane money!!!!!

Makes me wonder though. This stuff was made with soft tip darters in mind.

I've used the same flights and shafts while playing soft tip for a month or better.

Seems as though when I play steel tip my equipment takes a right hammering

I'm sure the same would hold true for Cosmo stuff.

Probably great for soft tip, but gets a bit expensive to use in steel tip play.

well went back to the standard flights and spinner cosmo shafts (inbetween 28mm) and no problems. I think using the smaller flights and bounce out on tile even the gear couldn't handle.
