I keep a diary of my different practice routines. That helps me from being bored. Boredom is a big enemy of practice me thinks.
Sample - Monday - large grouping all numbers x 3, 100 darts at bulls and 20's Tuesday- around the board on doubles, 100 darts at Bulls & 20's- doubles 20's,10's, 5's, 16,8,4,2,1 x 5 Wednesday - off, Thursday- sm segment grouping 7 numbers x 5 around board on doubles, 100 darts at Bulls and 20's. Friday- play dartmaster 3 in 01 games and american cricket. 100 darts at treble 19, 18.

These are just examples, I mix them up . usually about two hrs of practice. Also do A-2 flight school 11 numbers example treble 20-15, Bull and doubles 20,10,16,8,
another routine I use is shoot double 20, then bull, double 10 then bull and so on and so forth.

All am saying is mix it up and it helps keep ya focused. I don't compete against myself ! with lots of pb's you know if your throwing well

Thats a great tip Larry Smile

I use both a diary and statistics for keeping track of my training.
And to follow up on my weak points and strong points, and focus to improve my weak points and not as much strong points, and then I focus to improve the strong points, and then I try to balance strong vs weak points.

All to keep practice interesting and varied Smile Not to fall into the same loops and start to feel obliged to practice, instead of feel happiness for practice Smile

Yeay!! 100 Posts!! I Rule Very Happy Hahaha ;)

Cheers!

I vary mine because I'd get bored very easily doing the same routine every day. I did an hour straight at T20's the other day to see how many 180's I could score - I was bored after about 40 minutes so the last 20 minutes or so I was just lobbing the darts at the board.

See here for a typical session for me:

http://www.dartsnutz.com/t463-my-typical-practise-routine

As well as the variations I've also started doing some 301 DIDO games which help with the doubles, and also help on the finishing aspects of the game. Not so much on the scoring side, but I take care of that side of the game with the Bovril's 100 and the final 10-15 minutes warmdown on a high number.

I don't keep any records other than I know my pb's of 180's in a day (8), 301 DIDO (8 darts) and 501 (11 darts) and I do try and beat these if I can (not too likely though given the current pb's lol).

One rule I have is if I start to get bored I'll give up the practise for the day - the other day's go at T20 was the only exception to this rule as I was doing it for the DC forum Easter weekend (I did it before the forum went down lol).

I do FS routines from Monday to Thursday and I keep a diary of the results like the time to finish each routine.
