How do you guys keep track of your practice runs? Like a chart with how many darts you threw or highest score per round etc. I want to start keeping track of all of this, just wondering if you guys had some tips.

All kinds of programs on computer. N01 and kp darts to name some. Do you have a smart phone?

There is pc programs that will record stats such as N01 I believe, but for me I personally just print out sheets of my practice games such as 100 darts at 20 and just write on that.

The nScore is pretty cool. Finally have a use for that stupid little Dell notebook thing I got...

n01 was one of the first PC programs I used to track my darts performance. It certainly has a lot to offer. I have high hopes for a lot of growth with programs to come.

And you can always get your average from that 501 splitted into how many darts u use or if you play more the total score vs total number of darts used

I use it to practice my counting

i use dartpro. i dont use all the web game features and cameras and such but it does a good job tracking all my averages and stats. i also like to use it to gauge which darts i play better with.

Played a few games of 501 on nScore tonight. Makes you realize how bad you really are. Gotta really work on those close outs. Once I learn to hit the doubles more consistently, I'll probably cut my score in half...

I very rarely (if ever ) play games of 501 now when practicing alone. I tend to use that practice time concentrating on grouping, doubles and shot outs from 170 downwards.

Flightschool is a great way to improve accuracy, whilst I've also started doing the "Team Taylor" Routines as well, which are very good as well.

Since combining the 2 my finishing has been immense and it's shown in my games against my mates especially our new favourite 301 DIDO were I have at least 1 brush of the opposition every night.

i can relate..the first few times i used dartpro i wanted to f'n cry. not only were my averages terrible but so was my focus and confidence. when i wan't using the software my game was a lot better (+8 ppd). i'd wait a couple of days a record some more games on dartpro and again my numbers would go to lemons. Then one afternonn me and the kids were practicing and i let them type in the scores while i practiced and voila! my usual averages were back almost instantly. i realized that taking just a couple of seconds to enter some numbers on a keyboard was having adverse effects on my rhythm and was completely throwing my game off.
now quite some time has passed since this revelation and i'm now able to play my normal game and use the software alone without my averages suffering. just keep in mind that anytime you incorporate something new, whether it be software, new darts, flights, or even lighting; these things take some time to adjust to.
So keep ya head up and maybe have a someone keep score for you while you practice. doubles practice is a must for ALL darters and i agree with chris that the taylor routines are phenomenol. keep us posted on your progress mate!

Well said Rum, +1 from me. I also notice when I first started using these programs that my avg would drop from losing focus and having to type in my scores. It still does suffer a little but not near as much as when I first started.

i use n01 and every once in awhile when i'm done my session/practice i take a screenshot to keep track of my average (both number of darts and points). i try to do it about once a week or so. i save it as the date so i can look back and see my progression. other than that i don't really record anything else. i personally don't keep track of 180s or high finishes.

my friend started a new rule at his house, if ya hit anything +170 you sign the back of the board with your name, date, and what you shot. funny enough last night he told me about it and after about 15 minutes i hit a 180 on it. got to be the first name signed on the back of the board as he just came up with the new rule haha. he wasn't too happy when i almost hit a second maximum half an hour later.

I like that idea, definitely going to start signing my board

That's funny because the local pub we play at if we hit a C9, max, or had a really high scoring cricket game we would scratch it into the wall next to the board with out initials and the date.

I dont have a problem with entering my score on n01. I use that little break to simulate a real game where my opponent is taking his turn.

I also take a small break after a set. This again simulates a real match where you have a break between matches.

It helps me to regain my focus after sitting for a while, just like in league.
