Posting/Receiving Darts Abroad Empty
PostSubject: Posting/Receiving Darts Abroad   Posting/Receiving Darts Abroad EmptySat Feb 16, 2013 6:04 am

Hi all
I was looking for advice from those that have posted darts abroad.
I sell a few sets on eBay and so far have always resisted the temptation to send any abroad, but am thinking that I might try when I list the next few sets.
Looking on the Royal Mail website it appears to me that Airsure Small Packets would be the best option at a price of around £9.20ish. There is another option but that only tracks the package while in the UK.
Also if I buy a set from the US, am I subject to import and VAT duties?

Any advice from those that have posted/received darts abroad to Europe or the US would be welcome.
Thanks
Paul

Buy all your darts in the UK my friend......prices are much better!!!! I live in Canada and send darts over there every week in trades!!! Have not had a problem!!! As long as you pack your darts properly, they should make it to where they need to go!!!!

I purchase darts from the UK all of the time. I never have not received anything but I have had a few packages take a little longer than normal. It usually takes a good 7-10 days to arrive. There have been times I think items get held up in customs and there for the 10 days. Longest ever was one month but I'm not sure how much of that was the sender not telling me when he really mailed them. I have found some people are uncomfortable shipping overseas because of getting burned from the person saying they never received the shipment when they may have. As a buyer from the U.S. I would be more turned off at buying an item with a higher postage of 9-10 pds vs a Royal Air small packet at 5-6 pds because of the added expense. You have to do what you feel comfortable with. Good Luck

I have sent overseas and usually send my standard airmail, sometimes if its a more valuable item I will send tracked. Only had a problem twice when the buyers said they never got their items, but I think they were lying. I sent a set to Rumandcork on here and it took about 16 weeks to get to him!

If you buy from the U.S. you can potentially pay import tax if its over £18 I think, but Royal Mail will also charge a handling fee of £8.
