I saw a video clip on YouTube of somebody explaining how to look after your darts board.
To my horror he sprayed his bristle board with water
That's only a good idea if you have a wooden dart board. Otherwise you will probably ruin yours.
However, what will help if your board has been laying, hanging,... around for too long and has become rock hard is the following :
Get yourself a plant sprayer.
Fill it with a neutral fine grade machine (in Belgium it's known as sewing machine oil) or cooking oil (peanut oil, sun flower or something, you can use olive oil like I did but every time I played darts
I got a craving for a Greek salad
) and just spray it on your dart board.
For the best effect, lay your board horizontally.
Leave for a couple of hours.
If the board is still to hard, repeat untill the desired hardness is achieved.
Best results are achieved in room temperature.
Worked like a charm on an old board that was in a cabinet I bought on a flea market. Kept the cabinet,
got the board back to a good throwing quality and donated it to a local youth club.
