Hi All,
I'm just getting back into competitive darts after a LONG absence. I wondered if the pro players these days use any specific types of flights - extra strong for example? What materials do they tend to go for?
You don't see much flight ripping or darts sticking into each other on TV any more so I guess times have changed...

good question- what I see mostly is standard flights with medium stems (mostly nylon) However some are starting to use Cosmo's (Justin Pipe). Though not a pro would recommend the Cosmo set up. Thanks for the post mate.

Honestly, other than the Cosmo/L-Style stuff not much has changed. The flights pretty much remain the same as they did from the 90's when I 1st started playing competitively.

Cheers for the replies.
I've seen the Cosmo stems and flights on the 'net. They look interesting.
I remember Unicorn did a stem/flight combination with the John Lowe darts in the 80s that had a long sideways slot in which you slid the flight.
I liked them but they only fitted the Lowe barrels propprly. There was an overhang with my darts which was uncomfortable.
good job

I think they use pretty much the same really, I think some of the poly flights have got thicker and stronger but I think that also adds weight so may not be to everyones liking. There is still lots of the lighter poly flights been used.

You can still buy the slik stik stems and should be ok with most darts.
