| Pretend Phil Taylor retires in January after the worlds. Take him completely out of the picture. Who do you think will dominate the next few years in the PDC. If you pick "Other" please state who you have in mind.
Arguments encouraged.

| I picked van Gerwen. Age and current form is the reason. The last time we saw a top gear like this kid has, he won 15 world titles. |

| I like MVG also. If he can stay focused hes a strong contender. Lots of distractions for this young guy and only time will tell. I think Lewis has let wine, women and song distract him but we shall see. Don't think RVB has enough gas left in the tank. I will say that if Wade medically stable he has the talent. |

| I really don't think there is any one that currently stands out head and shoulders above the rest of the field included. MvG has had some good shows as of late but is really inconsistent, arrogant, easily distracted as well as intimidated(see Thornton chasing him around the bar). Plus I generally dislike his stage presence and that weird way he stands/throws There really isn't any one that has Prime Taylor's focus. As a result, my money is on a reinvigorated Priestly. That guy should've and would've had an era named after him if taylor had never arrived. If he decided to come back full time and redoubled his dedication, I think he'd continue to put the MvG's in their place! |

| Ive been waiting for a few to stand up, but apart from MVG's run of late, no one has really impressed.
If RVB can still win a tourney, then the rest are just sitting on their hands until Taylor actually pulls the pin. |

| I voted Whitlock, as much as I think MVG is capable I am not 100% sure he can keep up his run of good form. Wade has too many off times now, Lewis not up to scratch either and Barney is still a little patchy. |

| Gone with Lewis, Taylor's prodigy, he flew the nest a couple of years ago, signed with Unicorns biggest rival Target and won 2 world titles, not particularly convincingly but the record books shows he won them back to back. I also think if there was no Taylor you would see a different Barney, Taylor has been a thorn in Barneys side on so many occasions the last few years that I believe this is a massive reason why Barneys confidence in recent times has been shot to bits. I don't think Barney believes he can beat Taylor anymore and so is defeated even before he steps on the oche - no Taylor = renewed confidence for the big man and maybe another world title. MvG is by far and away the form player at the moment, there is no denying he has the potential to be the dominant force in darts for years to come. I personally do not think anyone will eclipse Taylors achievements, not only has Taylor been exceptional the last 15-20 years but I feel there are a lot more top quality players around just now than there have been while Taylor has been dominant. Analogy: you put 1 big dog in the yard it will eat everything in the bowl. Put 4 or 5 more big dogs in there with the aging top dog that has had it all his own way for years and the contents of that dish are going to have to be shared around. But those 4 or 5 dogs better beware, the top dog can still bite! |

| none of the above, I don't think any of them will dominate. Too many good players and anyone can pull off a win at anytime. Simon and MVG had good little runs but thats it. |

I agree. Taylor dominated for years because of his ability to wrap up sets by going 12, 11, 12 darts. His opponents were running scared but now a large number of top players can reel of sets in 36 darts or less too. Look at Whitlock last weekend, he went 5 or 6 legs in a row with a 14 darter being the worst leg. In shorter formats that is unplayable. I don't think anyone will dominate again. Perhaps we may see someone win 3 or 4 majors in a year or even 5 or 6 majors over a two year period but no-one will be the new Taylor and beat people before they even make it on stage. There are just too many talented players at the top level and now more and more of them are taking the game much more seriously than in 80,s and 90,s by practising more and staying sober. |

| Winmau. He was fifteen in order of merit that was shown .So I think he can climb to top ,and become next big thing. Also Larry can hit Indian summer like Dennis did this year. Of course only if he remembers where he put his darts. But one I can tell for sure if groundhog retire,it will be NUTZ |

Mr. Lakeside wouldn't even win the Dartsnutz championship. Then he would have to deal with all the other forums championships. He might have a chance at sallydarts.com though. |

| Adrian Lewis is the smart choice if Taylor crashes out early at the Worlds I used to think Gary Anderson had the potential to be number one but being the best 180 hitter in the game not enough Gerwens the most exciting player ive ever seen a great scorer and a great finisher i think hes the one player Taylor fears apart from Lakeside of course |

| Its a shame about Gary really. He has said that he doesn't like practicing doubles. So no WC for him unless he changes that attitude. |

| people pick MVG based on his current form, but I am not so sure he will have the strong mental side needed to keep at the top, its still too early to tell as he is still very young. |
