| I picked MVG as some years ago I saw him play in the WDO world championship in Perth WA and he and the other Dutch junior outplayed everyone then played in the mens and MVG played Barney in the final I cant remember the result but thought at the time he would really do well , am just suprised it has taken so long, though being in Australia we dont get much news. |

| I am not sure why he took a while to get back to his best, maybe other distractions took hold for a while, sometimes people peak very young and show amazing promise but they have already hit their best, wheraas others improve overtime. I think MVG will be at a fairly consistent high standard now for some time though. |

| Wade and Whitlock have the best chances of taking over the #2 spot behind Taylor after this tournament. In 2011 Lewis beat Anderson in the final, meaning they're defending a bunch of money coming off their OoM. Van Gerwin lost first round (6K) in 2011 and Whitlock lost in the 3rd round, worth 15K pounds. Wade lost 2nd round worth 10K.
*Side note, Mensur Suljovic took out Van Gerwen, then Wade that year.* |

Thought Kist is with BDO? You're right. I keep hoping he'll switch. |

| Taylor in his prime, would dominate the current crop, i don't see anyone around with his ability or mindset, I fancy wes newton for this yrs title he's improving rapidly with a great temperament. yours in darts.

Thats what separates Taylor from all the others I think, his mindset and how he has consistently been able to improve and maintain a high level for so long. I think there is many players who are capable skill wise but they may lack other qualities which a champion needs to stay number one. |
