| Subject: a180 Repointing Tool? Thu Dec 13, 2012 4:12 am | |
| Hello,
I was curious if anyone had any experience with the A180 repointing tool? I'm looking to put some new points (preferrably Storms) on a set of darts and figured that now would be a good time to pick up a repointer.
The A180 is cheaper than the Unitool, and not nearly so big and bulky so I figured it would be a good choice as long as it works well and reliably. |

| I have one and it works great. You need 2 small pair of vice grips or pliers. It takes me 15 min to change (guess me slow Mac) I recommend highly. |

| Great tool for the price. I got one and was a bit skeptical at first. Just need to use some vice grips and pliers for tight points. Does the job well and can get spare parts for it. Would recommend it.

| One of the best pieces of equipment I have ever purchased. Last week I put points in my 100th set.(300)pts. From the same tool. 63 sets of storm pts. The rest various other straight pts. No, they are not all my darts. I help my local darts shop and the players in our league. My wife and I each have 2 sets. All with storm points. I can,t say enough about this tool. It is well made, sturdy and dependable. My only suggestion would be to get the tool with the hex nut on the end of the main shaft and not the wing nut style. Get yourself a small 3/8 socket wrench with a socket that fits the end nut. this will make it much easier to turn. I would also get rid of the Allen wrench and again get a small socket wrench with an Allen head socket for the 2 small screws that tighten to hold the point. This will make a better fit and allow you to tighten the bolt without damaging the head of the screw. I'm still using the original screws. One last suggestion, if you have some points that continue to slide even if tightened down try this, put a small piece of rubber band across the point between the small metal cross piece that tightens down on top of the point. This should keep it from moving. |

| Thanks for all of the replies guys! I went ahead and placed an order for this repointer and some Storm points just a few minutes ago. Now I just have to wait a couple of weeks for it all to get here... |
