| See how much nicer we are? We only edit a bit.
I've always liked Taylor. But as of late i don't like how he handles his losses.
MvG gave him a dose of his own medicine and he didn't like it one bit.
That's how the pro darters felt for years when Phil was handing out beatings. |

| I agree Taylor has got to big for the game as he does feel he can waltz about doing just as he pleases, but that is down to his management team, sponsors, organisors and the fans who have just let it happen. We have done as we always do here in the UK we make some one so big and famous, Show them off and bow to their every whim and then when they get used to it and start acting like a diva we try to knock them back down again. George Best, Gazza are a few names that spring to mind. I have great admiration for his achievements and do believe his has been the best darts player the world has ever seen and is probably likely to see for many years, but he is only a darts player.I haven't seen him part the seas or build 2 new hositals or donate 5 million to help our education system. We all put sportsmen and popstars on a too higher pedestal and offer them too much money for their skills. I would love to play professional darts but would happily do it for the £50,000.00 plus the odd endorsement fee. The world has gone money and power (no pun intended) mad and I for one think it is a worse place for it. Taylor is a fantastic champion the greatest player of our beloved sport that has ever lived but is a by product of our selfish, arrogant, greedy, immoral human race and im sorry to say that's our fault. So before we all start banging on about Taylor maybe you should take a look in the mirror and see the person you have not only created but also become. Just look at the way the people watching behave now form 20 years ago should tell you something drunked, disrespectful, and booing your own nations current World Champion, wanting your 15 minutes of fame by dressing up to get noticed so you can be on TV. Whenever the camera pans out to the crowd none are watching the game they are chatting away with their pints to hand shoving their hand written cards into the view of the camera and showing off, then we knock the Pro's for it e.g. Hankey drunken disgrace shouldn't be allowed should be banned was the cry before people looked in to it further only to realise it was a mini stroke. Darts has to change it's image and soon as I feel it is in the gutter. Stop the alcohol and see how many still want to go, I know I would as the last big Tournament I went to was Bolton for the UK Open and I wore as much lager as I drank. 2/3rds off the so called fans should have been banned for being irrisponsible with their drinking; "but it's a pub game what do you expect will be the next cry" quite right and if I went in my local and you spilled half your beer down me because you were drunk and out of control what do you think would happen to you, but it's ok at the darts. Well it isn't ok anywhere. So yes Taylor is arrogant he is all the things everyone says he is but Frankensteins monster had a creator and if you want the Future world champions to be any better you change your behaviour too. |

| I think he is just so intent on winning everything it is an obsession with him which has made him who he is but also makes him seem obnoxious at times, I am not so sure he can help it really.
He just hates to lose but I think he learned from Bristow to always have some kind of psychological dig at his opponents, its a part of his way to get at them mentally.
I never think he seems sincere when they interview him after a match and he says how good his opponent played but then I cant say i would be any different, I would be so glad I beat them, lol. |

| I agree and give you a +10 Lakeside & Kev. I never had much time for Helen Chamberlain until Jockey's Funeral, Eric and herself did a round trip of 400 odd miles, were was Taylor and the others that were only to glad to get their faces on telly when he died? Couldn't be bother to get off their bums!!! |

| Hold on a minute, although we think people should be allowed to air their own personal views we dont wish those views to become nasty, we are not having a platform here just to rip into any well known person.
I personally dont dislike Taylor I dont say I like him either, just that he does seem to be a sore loser and a bit ingenious at times, but at the same time I respect what he has done and wont tear into him for personal things that can happen outside of darts that we dont see. I dont know him enough to judge him fully in that way, all I see is the guy on the TV who hates to lose.
My favourite player is Barney but I dont really know why he is my favourite, he can be a bad loser too, I think I just liked the way he played his game but in the last few years he has not been the same.
Now my Dad does not like MVG just because of the way he celebrates, so I guess there is many reasons why a fan can like or dislike a player but they are not always rational reasons.
I complained on a certain forum about the amount of Taylor bashing that was going on at the time, mostly by one individual. I think because I complained to the owners they are now cautious about letting it get out of hand, I could be wrong but I think that was part of the reason I was banned.
I was not sticking up for Taylor because I was a big fan or anything like that, I just thought it had gone too far and was getting really boring hearing the constant hate campaign towards Taylor. For me it was spoiling the forum and taking away the pleasure of reading the threads.
Like I say I dont mind people airing their views as I think it should be allowed up to a certain level, but it can become detrimental to a forum and create animosity among fans and non fans of a particular player. |

| I agree with Grip. I too was banned along with Grip and Mac from the forum. Look I just judge the man on his accomplishments in darts not his personal life. To separate them is difficult at times but necessary for me. One very good thing came from our being banned from that restrictive, forum and that of course is Your Dartsnutz Forum |

| Quite right Grip to be honest some of the posts on here are becoming quite boring and tedious some people just have to much time on their hands and write any old rubbish just for the sake of writing. Some of the threads are ruined by drivel that could be posted in the drivel section but not on a thread that genuine darts fans are trying to have a sensible conversation in. I am one who is considering having a break from the forum as we seem to have attracted some people who I believe are not Darts Fans nor are they emotionally stable or literate enough for me to engage with. Sorry guys and I was so enjoying this forum but I am finding myself becoming very irritated by some comments and I don't want to say something I may regret later. Love most of ya but the usual few spoil it for the rest. |

| Sorry to hear that Kev, I think forums have peaks and troughs where there is some good debates and also some nonsense, you have to expect it really and as a lot of us like to have a bit of fun too it will happen but can seem that things swing one way more than the other.

| I hope Big Gun keeps posting too!!! As for Taylor, well he is still hiding from me and wont play me. Coward!!! Truthfully I simply dont know Taylor but find it hard to argue against him being pretty focused and dedicated to darts. The rest of it.. let his friends and family and possibly neighbours judge that. The PDC is a darts competition, not a buddy competition. |

| that's the beauty of the forum big gun, you are entitled to come and go as you please. I hope you stay but respect your decision if you choose to take a break. I think you will find nonsense everywhere you go in life at some point or another. It's a matter of whether or not you wish to look past it.
JD offered a great alternative if it is limited to the opinions of certain members.
As for the Taylor topic I completely agree that he is arrogant. I also agree with the sentiment that he exhibits poor sportsmanship at times. However, in every sport I believe you will find that the ones that shine tend to have that level of arrogance and lack of sportsmanship. I'm inclined to say that that attitude is what gave them the drive to be that good. Is this true 100% absolutely not. There will always be exceptions.
With that being said I still stand by the fact that Taylor has achieved a lot in the game of darts and has brought it to the next level. Like him or not you cannot deny that he is a superb darts player and has raised the bar. |
