Memorize your out numbers.

An easy way to memorize your out numbers in '01 dart games.

Everyone has problems with calculating a dart out sequence, even the pros can get stumped once and a while. The last thing you want is to be distracted by having to do math while on the line. It will take away your focus and that’s a bad thing. Here‘s an easy way to memorize your outs and never get distracted again.

Let’s say you’re on a hot streak in a 501 match and you’re facing a 103 out. Odd number, a typical triple 20 first dart doesn’t make much sense because that leaves you with a 43 out. For most darters a single three, double twenty is a tough combination because you are traveling a long distance on the board to close it out. So what do you do? You can start thinking outs and do the math backwards but that gets complicated real fast. A great trick is to subtract 89, 97 and 100 from your out number. Whatever you out happens to be, subtract a ton (one hundred points) and see if the number that’s left is a one dart out that you like. If that doesn’t work chances are good that you can subtract 97 (triple 19 and double 20) or 89 (triple 19 plus double 16) from the number and you’ll have a workable middle number.

So, back to your hot streak and the 103 out. Subtract 100 and you get the 3 middle number that’s not ideal. Subtract 97 and you have 6 left. Subtract 89 and you get a 14. Now you have a combination of numbers with a higher success rate in triple 19, single 14 and a double 16.

W.T.F. I ain't getting my head around all that but I do know that under pressure a single 14 is harder to hit than a single 3 don't you think? Due to the fact that a 3 is in line with the most common number you throw at which is 20. I have to say you have confused me there a little but I will read it again tomorrow when less tired from my sleepless weekend of darts.

I can understand the t19 route on the 103 for higher % chance of getting to a double.

BUT, WTH why go for s14 d16?? If you have problems with aim or nervers, then you WILL miss the s14.

The 6-10 segment offers a greatly higher % to leave a double. you can hit s6,t6,d6 to leave a double. You can hit s10,t10,d10 to leave a double. Thats more % to get to a double!

But I may be wrong about this as I'm not a pro either Smile

EDIT;EDIT;EDIT;EDIT : This is no dig at you Larry Smile I know that you copied from another site. Its a dig against the text creator Smile Smile

Exactly Venigoor T19 then a 10 or a 6 leaves a shot. I think the site where you got this Larry has over thought this to a point of it not really making sense as it would confuse most people to be thinking of the out shot before their first dart purely on the basis that if you hit the single 19 the whole shot routine changes again as the 103 for example become 84 which is then T20 D12. I normally have my shot routine worked out after my shot when I am back behind the next person throwing, we all have to do the quick maths when the first dart doesn't go where you would like it to go but then you just re-set yourself and off you go again. I have to say I don't like it and wouldn't use it but it's a valid post as anyone that can make use of it has another option to use. This is why I like these debates as what works for one is ludicrous for another and that's what makes darts such fun. I say it's a good job we are not all the same or everyone would be perfect like me and that would be awful lol Mind you it don't take much to confuse me these days either
