| Love him, hate him, Ted Hankey is a name in the sport and world champion. It seems he's had a stroke and that's what caused his poor performance this week. I thought sending him a card might be a nice way to show him our support as a forum (even if we hate his character on stage), but I can't think of a way to get a good physical card around the world and then on to Ted in a timely manner. So I propose that this thread be turned into a "Get Well Soon 'Ya Git!" card, and if we can arrange a way to get a link to Ted, we do so. So, here's my entry: Ted, we love 'ya mate. Even over here in the US. You're an asset to the sport, amazing fun to watch and have a throw as smooth as cream in coffee. I hope you get back on stage and start kicking ass again soon. Cheers! - Mike from Dallas Add your comments and I'll try to figure out how to get a link sent to His Badassness. |

| Ted is a character, the sport definitely needs characters. Off the oche Ted is a great fella, on it, he is a character, he is at work - I get grumpy, mad, annoyed at work - and yeah, sometimes I lose my rag, react, blow hot and cold - if people judged me on my persona at work alone then I would probably not have many mates - luckily people are not like that - they see me out of work when I am totally different and I have plenty of good mates who take me for what I am. 99% of people only see Ted 'at work' so to make a judgement on his overall character based on that alone is very shallow in my opinion. So, whether this gets to Ted or not - I certainly wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and can't wait to see him back mixing it with the so called 'big boys' of the PDC. |

| Get well soon Ted the game needs a few characters in it that can actually live up to the bad boy image and you are surely one of those. I met you in Bolton for the UK open and you were very friendly. Nico still needs to learn the tricks of the trade so teach him well Ted and see you soon back on the oche.

| I like watching Ted play and enjoy his antics, makes for good viewing I think. He has one of the smoothest throws in darts too which is great to watch. All the best Ted and hope you get well quickly and come back better than ever! |

| Ted, you're a fantastic player to watch and have one of the games bests throwing actions. Get back to full strength soon, entertaining and snarling like normal.

| Ted, you are one of the most naturally gifted players the game of darts has ever seen. I suspect a punter at the venue smuggled in some garlic bulbs which may have caused your recent malady. This is a very unfortunate turn of events, in my opinion. We do know that no wooden stakes made there way in. Get well soon.
Thanks for making big stage darts fun to watch.
A fan in Canada. |

| Some great news today, with Ted Hankey tweeting: "Contrary to all the hype that I have retired I am telling you I will be back playing soon and I am up for it 2013 the year of the count". [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
