| All depends on my mood and the team we are playing that night. Some nights I wanna be at my best and others Ill drink a crap load and just have fun. I would say anywhere between 6-10 beers or Rum and Cokes during and who knows how much after lol. If playing a good team I will only have 3-4 until near the end of the match |

| I usually try to limit to 4 pints before and during a match as once I hit the 6th I am usually seeing 3 boards! Will have a few more after my game, once the darts are put away. :drunken:

| I start my night with a beer and a shot. If we are playing at the right place, a.k.a cheap drinks, I will replace the beer with Captain Morgan and Ginger Ale.
...I ermmm... Find that I throw better when I have a few drinks in me. I've learned where my apex is too. So, I try to maintain the appropriate buzz level to cancel the nerves but keep me from losing my focus.
All-in-all I probably average 2 shots and 4 or 5 mixed drinks (if drinking beer it's more like 7 - 9).
After the match is over, and whether or not we win, dictates what I drink for the remainder of the night. |

| I usually start with a beer and a shot, then stick to beer and shots until I start losing, then I switch to beer and shots. A man has to have a system about these things, ya know. I've actually been WAY overdoing it lately from having such nerves about competing, but now that I'm starting to settle in I'll probably just nurse beers or mixed drinks (Cpt. Morgan and ginger ale? I have GOT to try that. Mmmmmm) from now on. Tonight's league night against a pretty good team at their home so we'll see how that pays off for me. |

I find that my drinking has slowed now that my confidence is on the rise. Takes less to calm the nerves I suppose. Captain and Ginger has been a personal favorite for a long time. I like the flavor of the spiced rum. So, I'm usually doing 50/50 on the mixture. |

| I don't drink any kind of alcohol beverages. However, I will always be accompanied by a glass of water during matches, or sometimes Coca-Cola. |

| I drink 2 bottles before a match, 1 bottle during a match and 1 bottle after a match so that's 4 total. |

| Yeah. I didn't cut down so much as cut out.
Still way too many. I have to get my nerves under control.
Any tips from the more experienced folks?
I do fine on however many I drink as I don't go too far, but there has to a non-alcoholic way to handle nerves.
Thoughts oh ye wise ones?

| Only one person can tell you, to drink or not to drink and if you do imbibe by how many. I drink therefore I am! Bo |

| I have been experimenting with throwing while drinking a few beers and throwing drinking cola. I hit my 7th 180 this month, beer 6 cola 0 by accident 1. I use the DartScorer software and Darts Live 100s board. Drinking a few beers while practicing Flight School A2 doubles and triples are fun. Without the beer I am grinding my teeth the few that I have left. Takes about 30 minutes to find my follow thru. Seems like my nerve damage go's away for a short period when drinking with darts. |

| Confused, why were they showing the players at the Darts Live this weekend knocking back the beers even on stage, thought they were only allowed to drink Chill or water. I am new at darts forgive me what I don't know. |

I guess it's allowed during Datslive competitions. I just wish sponsored players would use better judgement when drinking alcohol. I doubt any sponsors would want their players to be drinking up on stage. It's not a good image for professional darts at all. I thought it was terrible to see to be honest. Won't see it in the PDC, on stage anyway. What they do during the break in private is up to the player. I used to do it all back in the day. Today, I don't do anything at all. Haven't had a drink in years. Personally, I think I'm a better player now. |

| If Im driving I dont have any alcohol.
Depending on my finances will depend on me having a drink if I get a lift.
If I drink, I will have 6 or 7 cans of beer. 1 can = 375ml. |

| I have been watching the Darts Live streams this year and the camera views do not show the players drinking alcohol not even in the seats. When this wonderful tournament came state side I was counting the days. It just appeared that the camera showed more bottles and cans than dart players. It just seemed like this was done on purpose or maybe I just had to many beers myself while watching. I have never been to a tournament of any kind, I have been in bars where drinking and playing pool and shooting darts is normal. Is this normal for us in the USA to drink while playing. One of my favorite players Lourence Ilagan seemed to enjoy the Corona. My high light of the tournament was seeing Larry Butler and all 3 Big Daddy players and other US players that I had only read about. Hopefully next year it can be more tastefully done being in Vegas |

| I normally have a few beers before the game, and then once we start playing switch to vodka. But we also always eat things in between games to keep the vodka from hitting too hard |

| I'll try not to drink any more than 3 pints during the game. Anymore than that and I lose focus far too easily |

| I usually drink 6-8 beers throughout the night on league nights. Thats over about a 4 hour period, so thats about two an hour which keeps me loose but not drunk. |
