London, 1937. The late and great Jim Pike went around the board on doubles, retrieving his own darts, in the time of 3 minutes 30 seconds. He did this shooting from a distance of 9 feet.
Just a thought...

I was trying to find the record for this. Anyone have any ideas? I think the records usually only use the numbers 1-20, not including the bull?
Record has to be in the low 30's or upper 20's. 2 per turn?

Well I am sure the pros have done it in 20 if its just doubles 1 to 20, surely?

I would have thought so Darren, a few pro's must have gone round in the minimum 20.

20? Naw, I have to doubt that one.
20 perfect darts?
I'm gonna say that's a terrible guess Sir Grip.

I agree with JD. Doubt its every been done without a miss
As for the record, I still agree with Grip, the amount of daily practice the pro's put in, Taylor can do 6 hours some days, and 'round in doubles' is a favorite routine of the pro's, it surely must have been done in 20 perfect darts, the doubles are twice the size of the trebles, Taylor did 2 9 darters in 2010 in a TV event, 9 perfect darts twice on live TV, surely on the practice board 1-20 in doubles must have happened a few times. I have hit 5 on the spin a couple of times times and I am rubbish
I will do my utmost to find out but my money (2p) is on it having happened in 20 darts at some point somewhere.
well I think it was either shaun greatbatch or scotty waits who when getting interviewed said they had asked Bobby George for some tips, and basically he said when you can go round the board on doubles in 20 darts then your ready, whether they actually did it in 20 I dont really know.

JD that is brilliant darts!!! Have you ever played in any ADO tournaments? with darts like that you could win a lot of them. Thats really really good doubles my friend. I dont think I could do that on my best day. Although the score I have up at the moment is horrible I've been in a bit of a slump the last 2 weeks I know I can do better but 45 darts I don't think I could get to that.

Yes, I've played a bunch several years ago. I was into darts big time. Never won a big one but had many runs to the top 4.
My very 1st tourney ever was the WCO in 1996. Made it to the top 32 in the pro singles. Lost to someone named Alan Warriner.
My personal favorite showing was playing Roland Scholten at the Le Scratch in Canada during the championship
rounds on Sunday, at the time he was #3 in the world.
Hit a 135 out on the bull to tie things up at 2 sets each. He got me in the 5th set to win. But that 135 to save the set was one of my
favorite shots.

Just had a quick go at this - 49 darts - should be able to beat that as I took 9 darts to hit the bullseye lol

I asked Keith Deller if he or anyone he knows had done it in 20 darts, got this reply:
Keith Deller @kdeller138 @DartsNutz no I went on T V Record breakers and done 18 doubles in 1minute 50 seconds the floor manager said stop I had 17 seconds to do it

Had another go at this. Really like this challenge as I don't really ever practice doubles. Ever. Hit D-20 with dart 40, then took another 19 to hit bull!!! Caught it on video, but there was a bunch of swearing towards the end.
