Winmau blade 4 or Nodor Supamatch board? Empty
PostSubject: Winmau blade 4 or Nodor Supamatch board?   Winmau blade 4 or Nodor Supamatch board? EmptySun Sep 30, 2012 10:46 am

Some people love the Winmau blade 4 board while others don't.
I have a blade 4 that is 8 months old, but the bristle is starting to get lumps and come out. It is still useable but looks a bit scruffy. This is not helped because I have recently fit some knurled finger grip points to my darts. I also turn the board every couple of days, when I can noticed the twenty area is getting as worn as the 12 (as I turn my board anti clockwise).

I like the blade 4, but found the bull and outer bull was very hard when I first got it. I also play on Nodor Supamatch boards at different clubs. Which I also really like. I am thinking of getting a Nodor Supamatch board before they are fully replaced by the Supamatch 2.
Having spoken to a few people they say the new Nodor Supamatch 2 is just like the blade 4.
They both have thiner wire which is forced into the board bristle. This makes the bristle firmer and tighter in the scoring areas.
People have complained of darts falling out of the bristle because the board bristle is too tight. I have not had this problem myself yet.

The Nodor supamatch has slightly thicker wire that sit on the outside of the board (on the scoring area). This allows the bristle to be slightly looser, which allows it to move. People say the board has a longer life and is slightly softer.

What are your thoughts? Or are there other makes and models of board that are better than the Winmau and Nodor boards?

Thinking about gettin the Bulls Advantage just because everyone seems to like them. The problem is its so much money for a board here in the USA.

The official-size Viper Razorback Bristle Dart Board features knife-blade thin wires and a staple-free bulls-eye to prevent bounce-outs, a self-healing playing surface constructed of sisal fibers, and a movable number ring for extended board life. It can be used with both soft and steel tips. Designed for years of enjoyment, this bristle board has all the features of the high end boards at a reasonable price.

i wont buy that board then, this one inst level, wires are all bent out of shape, bristle sticking out a quarter inch. I have so many bounce outs its not funny. Also the colors flow onto different panels which is kinda annoying.

Well the Bulls Advantage last a long time but are very hard, although the spider is not as good as the Blade 4.

I would say the choice is between the Blade 4 or the Bulls really.

I used to have a nodor supabull (I think that was it) and it lasted me along time. Nodor really do make some great boards, but id probably opt for the blade 4.

I just retired my Target Play Vision dartboard and replaced it with a Winmau Blade 4. I'm glad to be using a Winmau board again.

I recently ordered a Nodor Supermatch from Amazon, but got a Supermatch 2!
Really wanted a Supermatch but the Supermatch 2 will have to do.

The wiring system and tightness of the bristle is identical to the Winmau Blade 4.
Will have to see how it goes. I am a bit disappointed with Amazon, as thought they would have informed me that they were sending a Supermatch 2, instead of a Supermatch which I ordered.

Write to them and ask why.

You could also consider a puma board next time. I was given a second hand one and it is still in good nick.

I've the "Alien" version of the Bulls Advantage. It's about 6 months old and it's a beautiful board, however... the bullseye ring has fallen out. I have to mash it back in every time I hit a bullseye now. I practice RIDICULOUSLY so I'm actually not all that surprised that it's worn out now.

I'm thinking of trying the Blade IV this time.

Anybody have input about differences between them?
