Bottle Brush Flights? Empty
PostSubject: Bottle Brush Flights?   Bottle Brush Flights? EmptyMon Oct 22, 2012 1:43 am

This is a set of Elmwood brass darts I bought a couple of years ago, It was the unusual flights that attracted me more than the darts themselve's, the seller listed them as bottle brush flights but I assume that is his own description.

I dont think they would have come with the darts originally, as I have seen a couple of other sets go on eBay on other branded vintage darts.
I would like ask does anybody know who manufactured the flights? They are very robust and made to last, but obviously never caught on.

Anyway thought id share em.

I think Unicorn made them actually, I am not 100% sure but I think it was as an alternative to Feather Flights because the cost of feathers were getting expensive so they were trying different types and materials. I think poly flights won in the end Very Happy

They do look like bottle brushes though Smile

They are called Sweeper flights maybe coz they look like a chimney sweeps brush too?

No Idea mate, but I imagine deflections went up by a hefty percentage

Nice Darts there!

I've seen these crop up a few times but have been low on money and never managed to get a set.
I actually like the brass darts there, unusual shape.

UNICORN "SWEEPER" FLIGHTS by markbrindza, on Flickr

I have a set of those myself. I bought them several years ago from a fellow in Australia. They made by Unicorn and are called Sweeper flights. I have the box but not a picture of it. I will have to take one and post it. As for flight they fly as good as a regular dart.
