| The First Law of Philosophy: For every philosopher, there exists an equal and opposite philosopher.
The Second Law of Philosophy: They're both wrong. |

No apologies Troll. This could be interesting. Anything specific you want to discuss? Is philosophy dead/dying? There's no doubt it has declined and the majority of Western populations find no use for it. I believe Eastern populations hold it in higher regard, but it is in a slower decline there as well. Our societies have become too fast, too cluttered, too busy for contemplation. We can't sit still without distraction long enough to examine ourselves or the world around us. Besides, Science has the answer for everything and you can find it within seconds on your smart phone. As an aside, I really like "The Philosophers Song" by Monty Python. |

| I think oche hit it on the head with the change of society and therefore the decline of philosophy (contemplation of action/reaction) because few can be bothered and answers are at our finger tips |

| took some philosophy classes in college back in 97. it was an 8 oclock class. so i'd slide down the mountain at the crack of dawn, smoke a joint over at east hall w/ the hippies, then i'd crash the cafeteria breakfast with football team. the professor was blind and albino with pure white hair. and we read from a book called 20 questions. never really got into it and passed the class with a C average. i remember once he tried to prove to us that a cheeseburger was better than a million dollars. i tend to adhere to the snooker philosophy-think long, think wrong. |

| Thanks all for putting posts in this thread . I can say only things ,that I know ,but then it would mean no posts . death or pre- agony of philosophy it is state which I see ,only because of one reason there aren't much philosophers now. There are plenty of smart people that are trying ... But there isn't passion in their eyes. There are too much Loyds and Osborns and no one wants to be Phil Taylor ,that is shame ,because in my humble opinion Philosophy is very visionary subject ,that can give as much joy as darts .
P.s I would be very happy to read - Critique of pure cheeseburger, Thus Spoke Cow |

| I like this saying lots
The love of the game is in my heart, which spreads to the blood which I bleed. The passion of playing is in my skin, which is shed when I sweat. Playing isn't something that you do, it's a part of you. |
