Sorry if this has been discussed, can't find it.
Anyway, I am captain of the local pool team and we play Tuesdays, but due to Easter we have no game this week and so rather than give up my Tuesday night out with the lads am making a rare appearance for the darts team, who incidentally I am signing up full time next season.
They are a good side, top division and can go top of the league tonight - no pressure then
I have played for them before and know all the lads, sign on every season but with being captain of the pool team, pool has always come first.
Long story short, wife starts night school September on pool nights and so I will have to baby sit the kids, which means I will be switching to the darts team which plays a different night - really looking forward to that.
So, as I haven't played for a couple of months and want to be sharp on the night, I am asking you guys some tips on preparation.
Now I like a drink when I go out (don't know if i ever mentioned that before
) and find I play best after 2 or 3 pints, the captain of the team is aware of this and wants to accommodate me, so I will be going on around the half way mark.
I have put in some good practice this week, particularly the doubles, and feel good, thanks to the steering wheel device have no aches and pains.
So how does everyone else prepare for for the big game?
Regards,
Greg
