Does anyone one clean their darts on a regular basis? What do you use? What's the best thing to use to clean old dingy darts?

I haven't - but warm water with a bit of washing up liquid I believe is best. Leave the shafts in and give them a scrub with a nail brush or old toothbrush. Rinse them off and dry with a towel and buff up with some kitchen roll.

Don't use bleach on them!!

I agree with mc1958 , good advice.

I am so clean that they never get dirty, so no need to really.

But if your like mucky Mac then you should clean them once in a while with warm soapy water

A while ago, I read something on John Lowe's website that said that he soaked his in bleach and water. A word to the wise - don't soak them overnight!! It might be ok for a short period but what I did ate away at the barrels to the point of not being usable!!

I always use anti-bacterial wipes, not only cleans them and gets them shiny but also gets rid of all the nasties, grease and crap that builds up on them.

Usually have a small pack of the wipes in the cupboard for the wifes cleaning so very handy too, less messing too as you just grap a wipe, give them a spin and they come up lovely - dosent remove chips tho

I actually bought a toothbrush for me darts. But has only used it once. Heh.


I think that grip dosnt have to clean his darts because he buys a new set every week. Hes quite dirty with all that carrot juice on his hands:). Heh.

Funny that this thread popped up. I very rarely cleaned my darts in the past. It wasn't until last month when I got my defected board that i started cleaning them. The board was leaving glue residue on my darts and after 10 minutes of play I had to stop. I could no longer throw my darts. Hot water and dish soap did the trick for me.
Board was returned. Never had that happen.

I got a set in a swap a while ago that were pretty crusty I just used soap and water. I think it washed all the triple 20's out of em.
