Well I have tried darts with all sorts of coatings but for me the Silica (Rosso?) is by far the most hard wearing I have used.

There is nothing wrong with natural and I love a decent gold coating too but for hard wearing it has to be Silica.

On the other hand that horrible stuff Unicorn call 'Machina' has to be the worst closely followed by the Black Titanium stuff they put on, looks horrible after just an hour or so.

Whats your preferred coating, gives best grip, which looks the nicest and which is the best wearing in your opinion?

Sexiest for me is the black coating on the Harrows Black ICE closely followed by the blue on the Alan Warriner's.

Don't know how either hold up to lots of play as I haven't used either in matches - was thinking about using the ICE ones but think I'll stick with my customs for matches lol. If the black is anything like the black Tony O'Shea's then they will fade to more of a muddy black - another reason not to use them in matches.

The silica looks and feels well nice, and I reckon they will hold up well.

But my favourite for looks, feel and lasting has to be the gold on the Kongs - they have definitely withstood shed loads of matches as I used to play with those before I got my customs and they have no dings at all.

i like the natural finish as far as feel and durability go- as far as looks wise i do like the silicas and agree that the black ice is a sharp looking dart

I too prefer natural. But at this time am throwing gold Sabers cuz I sold my silver ones.

I like copper tungsten, but thats not strictly a coating. I have a few machina darts and I did not mind the feel of them, but I preferred the gold titanium coating, it will wear eventually though.

Not tried the sillica coating yet but will do soon I hope.

Tried the Zirconium on the Lewis darts but cant really say it felt any different to me.
