| I push, but I push hard. I draw back no more than a couple of inches and then bang. |

| i think there is also lift type throw and spin where the dart starts at a low point at the back and the thrower lifts his hand up like a jack hammer action and spin like lewis or anderson were they twist the dart or the fingers. they may fit into the other throws a bit but are a bit diffrent imo.my natural throw is float lift type throw very much like barneys. |

| Got curious about that Bo-dingleberry guy so searched posts by him. I've always liked this topic and I think I have the answer for this.
Every dart has a balance point. If you hold it in front of the balance point you pull your dart. If you hold it behind the balance point you push your dart. |

| I have always believed that the best grip & throw is essentially the one that comes naturally and improved with practice. Many excellent shooters push from the back portion of the dart (e.g. Eric Bristow, Phil Taylor). Other excellent shooters pull from the front of the dart (e.g. Bob Anderson, Raymond Van Barneveld, Gary Anderson). I push my dart to the target and have selected my darts accordingly. |

Correct there is no "right" or "wrong" way. It is what comes naturally to the person. I thought I'd simplify the definition for everyone. I'm a pusher myself, so It is important for me to have good grip at the back of the dart. |
