As some of you will know already Rileys in Plymouth recently got rid of Jim the Manager who looked after us really well because they decided that he wasn't taking in enough money Month in / Month out. He's been gone for approx. 2 weeks now and the boards have not been changed once in all that time and match boards were left up, etc.

Anyway the new guy's started and the first thing he's done is change every single board in the darts area. Hurrah!!

Apparently he did a Mystery Shopping trip last week and already pinpointed many areas for improvement. At least it looks like we'll have someone who'll take care of the place, whether he's as nice and as forward as Jim remains to be seen though.

That's great news. It's a shame that people let places like that go to hell. I would kill for a place like that around here

Thats good of him, I seen someone selling Rileys darts lanes on Ebay, the board scorer backboard etc, pick up only in Croydon. Guess they never took off there?

That's a shame Grip because the Rileys Zones really are good. I know most of the Local pubs don't like them but for staging Competitions they're perfect. Most pubs only have 1 board and this means that some times you can be sat around for ages in a comp and then it really comes down to who plays best from cold.

At least with Rileys they have boards for the comp and always leave a couple for warm ups.

They look good from what I have seen, so not sure why that guy is selling unless its some other reason.

I play in the Croydon league and I know there are at least 3 teams that moved from pubs to playout of Rileys in Croydon. As far as I know the teams are still playing out of there.

Well I dont know the story behind the guy who is selling them on Ebay, could be just old stock?
