Hey all its brett, the permanently banned ex mod of thedartsforum

Somebody took Brett so ive registered as my name on Double finish, Hope to answer some questions on why im banned and what you dont know about darts forum

please enliten us i like to hear what people get banned for. Most of the time it's ridiculous..

Ha Ill write something up later because if I say I stated that somebody stole a quote of mine from another forum then it makes no sense.

Youd have to understand the issue regarding Darts corner sponsorship and the fact they have been trying to not tell anyone about a forum that started up with the same name.

I seen your name come up a few times on other forum but have no idea what the fuss was over so I'm very intrigued to know. Well, I'm just nosey really lol!

Hi Brett and welcome aboard - I saw you over at other forum for a while and know dartsforum.com was involved somewhere along the line, but must admit I'm intrigued as well.

It started back in June because of the split on double finish forum. Half of the moderators left the forum and started up thedartsforum.com. It upset most of the people on dcforum (DC from now on) but I was a bit pissed off because Gazman, the forums best moderator, left DC and joined dartsforum.com as admin.

There was a lot of arguments about it but the top and bottom of it was Gary and Wayne was not bothered, they did not see thedartsfroum.com as an issue but asked for it to be never mentioned on the site. After a few weeks Id grown bored of moderating, the forum was no longer the same forum I signed to, Steve had become some kind of overall moderator (which is ironic if you ask the other ex mods why they left) on the site and Jedi had come back so I decided to step down. Mainly because I wanted to speak to the people on thedartsforum.com without having the people from DC thinking my comments affected their business.

Everything was good for a few months untill I noticed Jedi had started saying stuff about me on DC, and I hadnt even been on the forum untill I left, he had taken posts I made from thedartsforum.com apologising for my invlovements in the arguments when that place was set up. Bearing in mind all mention of that forum is banned on DC, Jedi thought it was ok to post all of these on DC, when I replied to say he had taken those posts out of context and from a forum that is not allowed to be mentioned I was banned perminately by him and then followed around the forums being called every name under the sun.

Tis a shame but dc has become a shambles of its former self, it used to be the busiest forum about discussion but has now turned into a forum for begginner darts players tips and a big group hug whenever anybody scores a 180 at home. Darts corners sponsorship is a massive issue aswell, because of their sponsorship they allow no talk about other websites. shame but hey ho Ive no issue with anybody on there. steve, Jedi and Viking are doing a good job its just laughable im banned.

my point was if you look at the old forum from 3 years ago (which you could still look at until recently) its a completely different place to what it is now.

Can't relate to that Toad, only been around a couple of months. Welcome aboard though.

It sounds like a real mess to be honest and a bit confusing with the similar names.

The forum restriction on mentioning other retailers or forums is rather silly. I can understand Dartscorner been concerned if people mention other online shops, but when you cant even say Red Dragon or McCoy darts its too much in that respect.

But we did not create this forum to spite any others, we just wanted to have some independence and do things the way we want to do them. These things happen all the time in forums its nothing new, just sounds like some dirty tactics have been involved but thats politics really.

I knew you were a mod there Brett. Welcome aboard again mate and just enjoy yourself. We pretty easy going here and feel free to join our chat sessions. We are small but growing pretty rapidly . We need ya posting btw thanks.

hiya Brett.....having seen the state of most of the mods and admin on here I don't want a hug for my 180's......hope you like what you see here. Post loads and give us some of that darting knowledge you have.

Ill try help this place out with posting, but I do post on 3 (4 if therse something interesting on SOD) forums at the minute so I can be away for days at a time.

Always good to see a new forum that is happy to talk about darts independently

with regard to the whole DC thing they removed my link to the bradford darts promotions website cos on it had a local retailers advert pic on it somewhere, totally stupid. It was posted to promote comps in the local area for ppl to see. It really was ott sometimes with the banning of any mention of other retailers and stuff.

at least you dont get called cod face and arnt insulted or asked to do one every other post now.

it wasn't me that banned you Brett, but i do think you are a complete and utter bell end, that said you coming to the next forum meet..........................or maybe we will catch up at the U.k open.......

I never said you did, I know who banned me because he banned the 5 alternatives I made to try talk to him.

As Ive said Ive no issue with you, Steve or anybody from that place. I just thought I deserved to state my piece on what happened and after reading the thread the other day about this forum I thought Id come on here and explain the problem I had.


As for meets Im hoping to get to the double finish meet in March otherwise I shal be up for a chat over a beer at Bolton

Hi Brett.. being a mod can be a thankless and downright aweul role in a forum at times..

I seen the forum but never bothered as I was happy in the forums I was/am in... enjoy it here mate.. nearly no rules just commonsense

I suppose every forum has there own system for selecting mods and there own criteria as we do here . Usually long standing good posters are in the frame and i suppose the decision is made between the existing team as after all they all need to sing from the same hymn sheet so to speak

And its fun that you showed up Brett! I missed you at the DC-forum.
I was at the old forum as well, and I see a little of what you mean. Before it was more pro-darts talk, now it's mostly beginners-help, but its great also so nothing wrong about it, but I miss some of the pro-dart chat, and not just finished threads

But there are a couple of people on there that I cant stand.
They are worse then Tanic when he was at his worst, I wonder where that kid went btw.
I've seen him post sensible the last time I saw him.

But it have been a witch-hunt on the other forum. But I wont say anything bad against the mods over there, because they do what they can do. Even if it sometimes can be a little wierd to us mere mortals without the Mod-Superduperpower. (I wont comment more on that now)

The only thing I can AND will comment on are the most recent bladdering on there, and one of the reasons I'm here now. It's the PM-Gate story. And of course I havent heard the whole story. But if it began with the thing I have seen and heard, then something have gotten very wrong, not necessary the mods fault.
