Much like certain events, ie the attack on Twin Towers, Princess Diana's death, and for Larry the assassination of Abraham Lincoln Lol, they say you always remember where and when you heard the news, Iv'e got a theory that everybody remembers their 1st maximum, as time goes on most of your other 180s may be forgotten, but the elation of the first one stays in your mind forever.

Thought it might be nice for members to share their memories of their 1st 180

mine was in my local pub The Shepherds Call in 1983, playing with my mates, I'd had quite a lot of 140's etc but always bottled it with my last dart, and I was that shocked when I got it that I never wanted to take my darts out of the board Lol I wanted everybody in the pub to see it.

That first one is always the hardest to get, yet in my opinion stays in your mind forever.

Mine was in the working mens club in Leyton High Road, East London - can't remember when but it would have been early 1977 at a guess. I went there with my mate who was a member there and I think we were celebrating the Chinese new year or something. Anyway, we picked up a couple of sets of the clubs darts and had a few games and I thought I was close but wasn't sure if I had hit it or not until I retrieved the darts. I was waiting to pick up my first set of specs the following weekend and everything was slightly blurry - I knew the darts were all in the right area but that was about it lol. Mobile phones weren't around back then and nobody carried a camera either - so unfortunately I haven't got a piccie of it.

wasn't too long ago! septemper last year, could believe it and gutted because i was on my own, took a picture of it , but a picture doesn't prove anything . was a great feeling !

Local league, 'C' Grade, 1990'ish.

I had been playing at home for about 2 years and wired a few but never hit one. At the suggestion of a mate I joined a local team captained by his uncle.

It was a home game and the pub that sponsored us offered up a free round to the players for every maximum thrown. I had been playing with the team about 3 weeks. First game of the night. Wired one in the first leg to a host of moans. Next leg, played rubbish. Third leg started where the second ended then out of nowhere.....treble 20, treble 20......loud screams of encouragement from both teams....deep breath....throw....wait for the call.....100....and 80!

Thrown using 22g Datadart Easyfighters (which I still own and throw regularly) set up with medium white nylon stems, stem crowns and clear/black edge Dimplex Flights.

My first ever 180 came in my bedroom on an old paper board. I marked the spot of each dart with a marker pen as I pulled the darts out. This would have to of been around 25 years ago now.

My 1st ever 180, during warm up match in a tourney in October 2012. I was using my friend's Unicorn - Dum Dum T95 23g. From there onwards, been playing / training untill today.

I had mine on the 7-1-2010. With my Unicorn 24g Grippers. In my Darts room. Only had one board and one good set of darts.
Today I have 3 Blade 4s and the Diamond.
A few more sets of darts.
The memory was lost, so thanks Shafted for the flashback.
Seems like a life time ago.
Last one yesterday. No were neer the first time feeling.
Like catching a big fish, I am hooked.

My 1st 180 was using 34g brass bombs best darts I ever threw with, didnt even know the 3rd dart was in until I seen the chalker's face aaaahhhhhhhh if only I could get an hour of those days back, I would cherish it. Strange how the memory works I asked a mate about his 1st 180 I could remember him hitting it. It turned out it was me who hit it in a pairs match !!!! One word of advice, mind your back and never trust a fart!!!

I was just playing at home as usual and never knew I got a 180 until I went upto the board and saw all three in the T20 bed, was amazed and went crazy, I left the darts in for ages too LOL!

Mines like your's grip in the bedroom having a chuck with a set of 26g martin Adams darts my first tungsten darts 3 years ago so i hit my fist 180 2 days after taking up the sport i went mental my wife thought i had won the lottery haha

I was one of the lucky one's to do it right off.. I was asked to sub for a friends team about 13 years ago. My 1st ever 501 game it was my 10th 11th and 12th dart ever at leagues and the sad part was I didn't get all that excited because I knew they were good darts but really didn't know how rare a 180 was for some people as I just hit one right off 1st night I played. Well I know it was just a fluke cause I didn't get another one until about 2 years later..lol Now I pretty much throw at least 4-5 with every practice session.
