| since i've been active in a 'forum'. so this should be some fun -=]
recently started playing darts at a friends house. he's gotten all his friends into darts, including myself. we play some distorted version of 'cricket'. closing out 15-20 and bulls.. w/ a last dart (take another turn). we play for money.. usually start out at dollar games... and by the end of the session 5 - 10 dollars per game..
i've been playing for about 2-3 months...and i'm having a lot of fun. i've finally found a throw + grip which suits me and my consistency is getting there.
my name is gabriel. i'm from los angeles. i like bikes (Both) and do cnc stuff to get by.
hello!

| it's archangel* gabriel. aha...
well... i told myself when taking up this new interest i wouldn't let my usual work consume this hobby as well.. e.g. turning out dart after dart from the lathe hunting for that perfect design..
yet never actually throwing any.
cool thing about darts i've noticed. 80% player 20% dart.
but thanks everyone for welcoming me. seems to be one of the few communities left on the net which aren't condescending to any and every poster that isn't themselves. |

| you could make a good side line making darts though . there is a guy in england that is getting a fair bit of work from the guys on this site . i know what you mean though . a lot of us find it hard to spend time throwing them when we're spending so much time ordering more to try . if you've got the skills and tools to make them at home yourself you could end up with an awful lot of darts kicking about your house lol |

| I think a lot of people get caught up in the search for the perfect dart, its like the search for the Holy Grail, you will never find it. I am guilty of it, but I enjoy trying the many varieties of darts for the sake of trying them. |

| well i can say this.. to get the best value outta a machinist you'd want to have a good idea of what feature/design you're looking toward throwing with. like the final version. you can always re machine your own used barrels if you'd like. electric drill + file. and you're good to go. a file will shred brass down w/ ease. tungsten is another animal........... entirely. emachineshop.com if you want one offs but they're a bit on the pricey end when quantity is small. when i finish convertin' this lil lathe to cnc i'll be on it though ....... | thank you once again everyone for the warm welcome =)
i would screw around at work a lot more if the boss wasn't throwing his "personal projects" at me when a machine is free (wheel spacers and other useless crap).
funny thing is originally i had my board setup in garage. guess what i ended up doing the entire time i was in there? lol. |
