| Has anyone ever torn one and if so how long did it keep you out the game?
Had a long session on Monday and woke up Tuesday in agony with my shoulder. Went docs who sent me for an X-Ray and sure enough I've torn my Rotator Cuff Muscle.
Docs told me to rest it for 3 to 4 days to let it heal and then do gentle physio exercises for 3 to 4 weeks. |

| I had it before years ago before I started playing darts. Luckily the Physio did the trick last time and I seem to remember my arm was okay in around 3 to 4 weeks. This time will be a bit different with the darts though as I don't want to throw too soon and end up making it worse. |

| not sure exactly where that muscle is, but I can sympathise with you on shoulder issues, my shoulder is always bothering me, not at the point where I broke it but along the back towards my neck.
I would err on the side of caution and give it a little longer rest than what the doc says. |

| I have had a bad rotator cuff too. I bought this DVD (well downloaded it) and have been doing the exercises on it for the last 2 weeks and it is feeling much much better. All you need is a 2lb weight to do the exercises. http://www.whitetigerwellness.com/rotator-cuff.php |

| I had a slight tear in mine when i was younger, did it playing cricket! Didn't keep me out too long from memory but i suppose it depends how bad the tear is. The doc did give me a few exercises to do after it had healed to build up the muscles around it Get a tube of pernaton gel Chris, that stuff works pretty well and has certainly speeded up recovery times for me in the past. |

http://www.whitetigerwellness.com/rotator-cuff.php That may help my shoulder issues too, but not paying £30 to find it doesn't. Never heard of pernaton gel? |

Never heard of pernaton gel? Haha yeah I know what you mean. but the download was only like 20 quid and I thought I would try that instead of buying some new darts I might try a tube of the pernaton gel, sounds interesting, never heard of it before. |

| Looks like a rest from darts, for me, is in order. I wasn't able to go to work yesterday because of neck and shoulder pains, that seemed to be caused by rotator cuff problem. I researched somewhere that rotator cuff problems can be caused by repetitive throwing. I most probably overpracticed the day before, and I could not think of another reason why I felt the pain.
I put ice on my neck and shoulder area, and it somehow alleviated the pain. If rest will not help in the next few days, I'll definitely seek professional medical advice.
Thanks for this thread.
