Gone back to them indeed mate. Nope don't use the scallop, but the shop didn't have phase 2 so I went for these as to be honest they fly the same and I don't need any grip at the rear anyway!

I see, I'm always curious about scallop darts and why people buy them, is it for their grip placement or they just like the look?

I asked Red Dragon about the scallop on the Flintlocks 22g and wondered if it was designed to be gripped on the scallop. I was told it was, but I thought why is the scallop smooth and the rest of the dart has all the grip cut into it?

I would think that having the scallop offers some grip just by the nature of your fingers being pressed "into" the barrel a little more than without the scallop

Yeah I think thats true, but just seems to me if the intention is to have the grip on the scallop section, why bother having so much grip elsewhere, may as well may be smooth.

I know other fingers may rest on the other parts of the barrel, but the scallop will be where it is gripped mainly. I dunno
