A look at the forum from beginning to the present
On January 8th Dartsnutz forum was founded by Andy Bailey and a few days later Getagrip, USMC80 and myself where the first members. Our vision to start a forum where members could talk freely about Darts and other things of interests without the fear of being banned. The right to express your opinion about Players, BDO, PDC and your take on subjects far and wide. It was strange just the few of us and some members of other forums laughed at us saying everyone's a Mod or Admin there. Slowly we picked up members, restructured the look of the forum that you see today. We started threads of interest on darts, then a humour section, a review of darts section using Vids from the internet but eventually in time doing our own. Then review of shops and equipment. The month of March 2012 we registered 26 members total and so it went slowly gathering members until the month of July where we had our first 100 + month for new registrations to this past January a record of almost 200 new members.
At first we did a few competitions and the prizes came out of our own pockets. Slowly we got the attention of large vendors who now contribute to our prize pool.
Dartsnutz is evolving into more than just a darts forum that talks just darts. Threads on, pets, cars, drinking,vacation, tattoo's, music, other sports, and jobs are just a few subjects other than darts. These other subjects gives insight to individual members interests and draws us closer to each other. We are world wide - members from Russia to Australia and countries in between have joined this forum for various reasons: Some to win a prize - some to talk about their favorite player - beginners seeking help. Beginners to very high level players with vast experience. Threads of help and showing your darts, your set up, your vacation, your likes, dislikes, your pets, your cars, your job, your experiences, trading ,buying and selling darts and your wants.
Growing pains : Yes we have made some mistakes but we make them trying to improve your forum experience here. With this rapid growth comes people who join for the sake of being argumentative and so closed and narrow minded that they don't even like themselves. We do our best to root them out as they don't have the mind set of sharing, helping asking pertinent questions but can only produce negativity and attack members personally. We understand that we all have our opinions and we want to hear them. Its your right here at this forum to express those feelings but its not a members right to trample on the other members right to do the same.
In the coming year the look of our home page will change a bit to reflect the wants of you our members. Posting is the life blood of any forum and we encourage you to do so - One of my schools motto's was " To Seek - To Find - To Share " So onward and upward !
