Did you hear the commentator ,132, treble 20 d18&d18, it must have been common back then as well. Thought it was a recent trend.

Joe Givnan scores 85 and the crowd erupts with applause!!! Whereas today, the crowd will boo Phil Taylor for missing a double for a 9 darter. How times have changed hey! I love watching the players from this era. The match I am always on the look out for on YouTube is Alan Evans vs Tony Ridler, and if I remember correctly this was a quarter finals match on Indoor League? I used to play with Tony many moons ago…..he was one hell of lad, I always liked him and I always will? He was the pride of Wales in his day! Tony would play anyone for money, anytime, anywhere!
My very first set of tungsten’s was a signature set of Trulon 27g copper tungsten Willie Etherington darts. I don’t know much about him though? But, obviously Willie was a legend of his era?

Not the one you are looking for but has two of the best throwers ever. Enjoy.

I have some of those, I think he was one of the first players to get a signature set, and they sold 1000's of them.
Edit: I should have said first with a signature range in tungsten.

Lots of people threw wearing their jackets back in the 70's - fag in hand as well - those were the days lol - nice video as well by the way, thanks for posting.
Darren, don't know where Shafted got his, but there is someone called gooner productions who sells dvd's - I think he goes by the name of basgooner on forums but I may be wrong on that count. I haven't bought any myself yet but here's the link

When I 1st started playing in the 80's there was a some older blokes still played in flat caps. how the peak didn't obscure their view and put them off i'll never know.

This channel has some early 80's tournaments from the USA including the Royal Hawaiian tourney, which at the time offered the biggest prize in darts. $15,000 for 1st. A lot of money back then.

Back in the old days when I smoked I used to do that - saved grabbing the fag by mistake and throwing that at the board lol

Everyone did the smoke trick lol - also a lot of the players used far too much chalk on their barrels as well (I'm talking well before Dellar by the way).
