Darts in dark Empty
PostSubject: Darts in dark   Darts in dark EmptyThu Jan 24, 2013 7:18 am

Hi guys Troll wanna ask question. I am playing like I play .But when I turn lights off. I play much ,much better . My stroke is at level I couldn't imagine was possible for me. No tension ,no forcing things. It is like darting haven. All is natural and happy. But when I turn light back. I become regular me. In dark I don't see trebles,I cant play proper game ,but if I need to choose I would prefer staying in dark.
But maybe Players can give me some advice?

Troll, I have heard that throwing in the dark is a remedy used for Dartitis. In the dark, you dont over think or stress about hitting your target, thus allowing you to have a relaxed throw.

When I'm at my cabin ,during winter, the sun is gone by 5;30 or 6;00. I have no power, just candles and a small reading light clamped above the board. I find it has been good practise as I have to really focus on my throw.
It is a little odd at first as you don't really see the dart flying, it leaves your hand and magically appears in the board.

For the record I have got more 180's up there then home, but I really believe that's because I spend wayyy more time practising and substantially more rum is consumed

sounds good, I will try it, may need to put protection around all breakable things first though.

I like the idea of this, as I think I am currently over thinking and tensing up - so I think this could help cure it. Although I don't think I will be able to do it in my Mum's Kitchen - there is already enough holes in the wall! Embarassed Laughing

Is there a possibility to transfer this level of game to light?

As far as I know Troll, no there isnt.

But I think what may happen over time is your brain and arm will remember what to do so it becomes second nature to just walk up and throw relaxed.

Im working on something similar, trying to bring my shed form out to league. At home, I can shoot 24-26 ave, but in league I tend to sit a bit below that.

I think the main reason for that is that my practise ave is inflated a bit by playing the computer on a level that is slightly better than myself, hence I lose a lot of quick close legs.

Now please do not laugh at me but I have found a similar thing happens to your stroke when you out of focus on your target!!! yes I said out of focus, you sort of look at your target then you sort of go out of focus and every thing goes blury and your muscle memory takes over. I cant quite explain where to focus or how I came about this but it seems to work for me however I have never used this technic in a game and do not recomend anyone else to do so.

Ok you can laugh now
