Personally, as a broadcaster I think there's an awful lot of bitching for something I spend hours doing to provide a FREE service.
If you don't like it what is happening or what you are seeing, please feel free to use the little red X up in the top right hand corner.
This is why all broadcasters have come and gone. Every last one of us. From Smoggy, Boxing Guru, Foto, Hendy, etc..
We stop doing it because of unappreciative people that want to bitch at the slightest little thing.
Any one of you guys can step right up to the plate and pay for a PDC or cable subscription and spend the MASSIVE hours to make sure the stream runs fine. Than when you get shut down and lose all your hard work and hours and days worth of archives you choice to keep on going yet all the continued complaints.
That's what this thread is right? A complaint thread. A friggin complaint thread about a FREE stream.
You've got to be kidding me.

No JD I started this stream to highlight what is going on in the chat rooms and how this forum's name has been abused.

I dont care what people get up to on the streams myself, but when they are using it to slag this forum off for whatever reason then that is what bothers me and thats the point I thought Rab was making in his second post?
Maybe I got it wrong?

I agree it has to stop, and it has to start with the broadcasters first. They need to respect themselves and respect each other, stop the petty bickering, name calling and general sending of spies to each others rooms and causing deliberate disruption. All this was going on during PDC World championships, and both sides were to blame here.
Also the spamming of other rooms with links to yours or others related to you without permission is not right either.
More importantly as chatters we need to respect the Broadcasters, when you enter a channel you enter their online house, if they have house rules then you accept them and follow them or leave and find somewhere better.
The Mods the broadcaster has chosen to Moderate are chosen because they understand and have accepted what the Broadcaster wants going on in their house. Houses tend to have different ideas of what is acceptable, if you have to for whatever reason move houses, you accept the changes for that house and if you don't know you ask what is acceptable.
As a Mod who has been so in all the main darts houses on JTV I have heard too much of, well it's OK in so and so's, we have freedom of speech in this country you know, oh this room is full of Hitlers. Oh you can't even say Hi and you get banned. I've heard them all.
When you enter that room you don't have full freedom of speech, you accept the rules, or don't chat there. If choice is limited, then you either control yourself, or if the level of chat for that room is above you find acceptable, you can either ignore the people you find over the top (using ignore button), or go full screen and not chat at all. Rest assured the broadcaster of your usual house is doing everything they can to get their house up and running again properly, so you probably only have to put up with for short time, 24hours at most usually.
At the of the day the Moderators have been chosen by Broadcaster because they can be trusted to carry out control of what the broadcaster would like going on in his chat house. It is up to Broadcaster, and the Broadcaster alone, to decide on whether the Mod is being over aggressive or not doing enough, NOT you the general chatter! If you think a Mod is not doing a good job, or being over zealous then PM the broadcaster (there is usually lots of ways to contact them) and let them make the decision on it.
So stop the broadcaster wars, stop the slagging off each others rooms, stop slagging off the Mods from other rooms or regulars who have an affiliation to certain named forums/groups when they enter the room you usually chat for whatever reason.
Just STOP and get along, respect the differences and accept them. We need the streams, we need the broadcasters, bigger choice is better choice. It's not a competition here, let people go to where they want to go and welcome and respect them if they have to go elsewhere from time to time.
And if you can't do all that don't chat at all!

Quoted M_R_B's post because it warrants a repeat read for all. Well said M_R_B!
I'm glad that I'm not a mod anymore. I now watch on full screen and enjoy the match.

Thought I'd chip in here seeing as I've been mentioned.
I have to agree with JD and Red bull. The fact is that it's not the easiest of things to do setting up a stream and yet the amount of grief and disrespect, trolling and provoking is unreal.
Putting the fact that what we do clearly isnt legal that's still no excuse for the lack of manners / respect. So you might ask why should I show you respect....Well it's called common courtesy. If you walked into a pub or other social situation being a jerk you know what would happen.
Anyways. I knew nothing of the StreamWars (southpark ;-) until it was bought into my stream. Now bearing in mind i watch everyone elses streams this was a surprise. Why am I getting called out as a fanboy of anyone because of the mods that I choose is anyones business? It's a lot like "did you spill my pint"
Take last year.. 1300 viewers peaking at 1500 for the finals and not ONE ban or timeout. Not one. This year with half of that it was a nightmare at times and those of other rooms werent helping the situation by goading people along, setting up room raids etc etc.
For me I know something isn;t right with a good stream when the dutch contingent stop talking and maximise.
So for MY room it was zero tolerance and you know what, after a few days it worked. A few ex mods were telling people not to go in if they didn't behave and that suited me just fine. Im more than happy with less viewers and decent chat, but that's just me. It's all to easy to get caughtup with viewer numbers than having a laugh.
Of course I've streamed on days and darts nuts has kicked my ass and probably always will do with his viewers and followers and you know what.. Good on ya! As long as I can pop in, say hello and have a bit of a natter and theres no animosity just because i'm streaming the same thing.. it's all good with me.
See before the fallings out started I had an idea and thought we could actually make some sponsorship money from this if we worked together. I had a trial run last year and just for streaming the darts I got a nice new board and darts. That was just a bonus because I remember the chat and the people I spoke to in the room during.
Reds got it right. It's up to casters to not slate any other caster. Enforce the chat rules clearly and if people don;t like it, let them find a stream they feel more comfortable in, after all there's enough casters to suit anyones tastes.
So there we go my little rant which is probably pointless given that anyone whos trolled in a stream won't be reading this lol
