PostSubject: practice routines (HELP)   practice routines (HELP) EmptyFri Jan 04, 2013 5:24 am

does any one have any interesting practice routines you can share with me as i am finding it hard to keep interested on my game during my practice sessions, which include some time on scoring, one or two rounds of the board on doubles from D1 around to the BULL (depending on my mood), and working on my finishes from 50-100.. due to this lack of interest/boredom due to the mundane nature of the practice sessions my game consistency has begun to suffer... Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

Make sure to play with a practice partner from time to time. Preferably one at same level or better than you.

True, make a day out of it once in a while. Bring some beers hang out and throw some darts. There are also programs like n01 and dartpro you can download to play against.

the dartpro and no1 are definately good for keeping your 01 practice interesting and I find that they help keep your focus a bit longer.

when you do feel yourself getting bored I would tend to walk away because this is when the bad habbits can slip in and undo all your good work.

for extra routines you could try these sections to help mix it up a bit....

music, not earbuds, put a smile on your face Grips smile ; you are chucking darts not working!
I throw 3 games of oi oi, easy but effective as a warm up; I then go to 6 games of cricket, changing my way around the board, also shooting at either trips gun blast or dbls and beds; then I go to di do, by now you should be warm and hitting what you are aiming at, close out with a 701 di do...rinse and repeat beer drink I prefer Pandora app so I don't know what tune is to be played next riff man ...hope you enjoy!

Definately get hold of n01 or dartpro. I practice against n01 on a regular basis. I can play up to 50 legs against it and not get bored.

As for the 45 min drive to your nearest practise partner, I make an afternoon/evening out of it. I go to a mates place similar drive away, we play for 2, 3 or 4 hours, having a few beers, then we stop and have dinner.

This happens when I go to his house, or he comes to my house. Our partners sit and chat while we try and beat each other up on the dart board.

At the end of the day, there is only a few legs between us and we have both had a fun afternoon.
