Just joined tonight so this is who I am

Live in wakefield

Trying to play darts again,not played since 1996,when my mother died.I used to go out with a brother who was still at home,he just stopped going out.

Picked up the darts last year,I was always a run of the mill team player,but this first year I was /am so bad

Seeing the lads play in the local,I am amazed by how good they think there are when they are just like me average.so I am trying to play myself in with the aim of winning one round the board in doubles.

Best darts I can ever remember throwing was when I had 5 bulls out of 6 darts on the old double board(made by Kershaw in Wakefield and soaked in water overnight)

I also buy/sell dart on Ebay,one of the things I sell are 7mm canes,Suitable for Jim Pike/Schofield Darts


Also would like to know how many people still play with these darts,because I have been trying to make a laminated paper flight(it gives us pensioners something to do)

pleased to meet you missedagain, I collect vintage darts so own pikes schofields and many other old darts, as do a few on here, but i dont know of anyone still playing with them.

there's a great vintage darts section on here that im sure you'll find of interest.

Hi Alec and thanks for joining, I may have bought some off you as I have had lots of Pikes and Schofields.

Funny how you say you stopped when your Mother died, thats when I started really, mainly because I was depressed and my Dad bought a board, it gave me something to do and I have enjoyed it a lot.

I have never had a 180 with an old set but been close a few times, I throw them now and then for fun but not seriously. I have a set of Schofields I got which are only 20g but fly so well I really enjoy throwing them.

Welcome aboard missedagain. I am also a vintage collector. Mostly I collect dartboards but I am more into the vintage stuff rather than the new when it comes to darts. I also have a big collection of paper flights. Check them out.
