Maybe, but should be #1001, thing is a lot of people sign up and you never hear from them.

on second thoughts no, if it is known about they wont sign up until its near 1000 as they will want to be the winner, so it may put them off if you see what I mean?

I am against all this incentives for new joiners as I think it is unfair on regular posters who just get taken for granted. I left SKY for just that reason as they would offer a new customer 6 months half price on all packages but because I was an existing customer I wasn't given any deal so I moved to Virgin.

I always think the regulars should be valued as much as the newbies so if there is a draw it should be for everyone. I look at it this way if it wasn't for the early joiners 7 regular posters there would not be a forum for the later joiners as it would have closed.

Its a good point Kev, which is why I think its a bit unfair to members who joined before a set number.

I think we had a similar discussion when we were getting nearer 500 members.

Personally I would prefer to see people who are actively involved in the forum to be given the sole opportunity to win prizes, but the only way to do that would be to say only members who have reached a certain amount of posts can participate in the comps etc.

The only problem with that is its easy to just up your post count with anything, so does no good in the long run.

Anyway, being a member here is reward enough!

It's a bit like the Ebay thing where I don't sell to people without a + on their buying or selling it is just a safety precaution so I know they have bought and sold before. I do believe it's difficult but not a problem for bigger comps to say before hand that this comp is for those with so many posts however if I said hello to every new member I would be up in the 1000's now but it would at least show that they are active. It's a difficult one to get right but I feel old or new should go in the hat, and I agree with your last statement just being a member is REWARD enough now where's my prize lol

I can't believe the amount of people joining on a daily basis - every time I log on lately I see new members being added. It must be 4-5 per day at least. I wonder what it is that is drawing new members in such large numbers. Could it be..........the Grip factor?
