| It is MVG's time now. He needs to get the job done. Taylor is ripe for the picking and knows it. |

| C'mon on MVG!
Would he be the youngest world champ if he wins? |

| So confused and disappointed by the whole incident. It looks like Phil is being a <expletive> and Barney tries to congratulate him, but when Phil continues to be an <expletive> Barney YANKS him by the throwing hand...
I'm not sure I buy either side of the story completely, which makes me truly sad.
Anyway, I hope MvG wipes the floor with Phil. I respect the Power's game, and what he's done for the sport, but at some point "the will to win" has to take a back seat to your humanity or you become nothing BUT a winner. A winning junkie.
That's being an addict as surely as heroine or alcohol. It still destroys the "soul".
Yes, Phil Taylor is a winner. And nothing else worth admiring as far as I can tell.
As for Barney... I'm torn now. That yank looked painful. The question is, was it deliberate?
I'll watch it again later, but for now, signing off.

| I like Phil's accomplishments. I'm aware that he's a sore loser but it's sad to know that's he's even a worse winner.
I think he'll have to be at this best in order to win against MVG, who's looking like the new alpha in darts.

Would he be the youngest world champ if he wins? I may be wrong but I think Bristow was a year younger when he won his first |

| Been doing a little digging lol.
Assuming the 1980 BDO/WDF World Championship was in January then Bristow would have been 22 when he won it and MVG is currently 23, so Brissy would be the youngest of those 2.
However when Jelle Klaasen won the BDO World Chamiponship in 2006 he was only 21 years and 90 days old - so he would be the youngest.
And before anyone says that was only BDO and not the pro game, the player he beat in the final was Barney, and the field also included other now-PDC pro's such as Van der Voort, Stompe, Whitlock, Anderson (Gary) and King - so it was definitely a pro field lol |

| I think it was something more to it than Taylor said to the press..
He was shaking real bad when he threw the winning double.. and when he came back to the commentators he said something like "my manager told me to say nothing happened"
It just looked that something was wrong even before he won..
Lets watch the final now! |

| Taylor wins record 16th world championship title. I don't think he'll retire yet. |

I'm going to show this to you again Tuesday.
"Taylor will beat MvG in the final, I know most of you think MvG will beat him but Im telling you, Taylor will win, will be close but experience will beat exuberance every time" I'll show it to you then JD Hahhahaha, as you know I was up for MvG but I have been watching Taylor for too long to think he was ever going to roll over, MvG's time will come but the Sid Waddel trophy was destined to be presented to Taylor. |

| I'd like him to, go out while he's on top, don't hang around and fade like so many Champions do. He's finding it harder and harder to keep at the top of his game and already this Season we've seen some poor showings. I'd like to remember him for 16 World Titles and many, many more over the years rather than someone who took too long to hang up his darts. He did what he said he wanted to do and regain the World Title, now bow out and enjoy it. |

| If it were me, I would continue to push myself and while I was in the top 3 or 4 ranked in the world I would continue to push myself as that, to me is still top of your game. Once you slip, I agree, bow out in style, however there are many who carry on and still can bow out in style, Dennis Priestley for instance, has always had the respect, the grace and the style, while he dropped down the rankings there were none asking he retired, I would love the menace to continue and he will always remain one of the top dogs as far as I am concerned. |

| At nearly 53 he has nothing to prove really, he has already done it many times over. If it was me it would be how much desire I had to continue and whether I felt physically up for all the travelling.
I think Taylor has a lot of desire for winning still, but not sure what he is like regards the physical side. People may think its just throwing darts, but there is a lot of travelling involved and staying in hotels and hours of practising, the older you get the more demanding all that must be.
He may start to do what Priestly does and enter less comps? |
