I personally like him. Hes a great talent and gives color to the game!!

dont mind him but he is not as good as when he first came on the scene

for me you cant talk that much and have won that little but in real life he is probaly a nice guy maybe he is that way to hide his nerves i think.

I like the player, respect to all players who make it to the big stage, He is welcome to drink at my table any day.

I like the fella, he is a character and nothing like the arrogant, self confident bloke that is refereed to as 'The Asset' while he is playing darts.

I agree, maybe he goes into character to focus, hide nerves etc, he certainly wouldn't be the only one to do so.

I just don't think he's that good anymore. Other than that I don't mind watching him

Also I cringe when I see him walking on with his shades on just to take them off when he gets on stage

I think he's playing the Pantomine, love em or hate em part, as this is a way to get publicity and maximize your earnings away from the stage, I bet his calender for exhibitions away from the circuit is booked up for a long time to come, and he can possibly charge a bit more than other players with equal standing because of the image he's created.

Peter One Dart Manley said to me a few weeks ago 'Kev he said when your not as good as the rest at darts you have to sell yourself as a product, I have been doing that for many years he said and it has prolonged my career' He said He was never going to be the best dart player around but he could entertain people and by heck has he done that over the years. He can throw a dart but he can tell a joke or 2 and hold a crowd of people when he's on the mic. Hats off to ya One Dart as I think you will still be around for many more years. Nico I feel just does the same, I have met him lots of times at our county games and he's a quiet as a mouse. He's a good lad but I fear he's bit off more than he can chew as the crowd do get at him and I feel he is a worse player for it.

Agree Kev, maybe that's why his talent has seemed to decline as of late.

Yes, I like him. He gets paid to play professional darts. Speaks very well in front of cameras and in front of massive crowds. All does excellent work on commentary. Educated man he is making money doing something we could only dream of doing.

A lot of what we see with professional darters are just acts. Sort of like professional wrestling. What we see on stage doesn't mean that's how the person walks around in their daily life. Many don't like MvG for his celebrations but I doubt he would do the same thing just because he saved a few pounds at Marks & Spencer. Probably just make his way through the check out line just like the rest of us.

Many can't seem to see the person for what they are off the stage. That has always baffled my mind.

I dont mind the players being a bit pantomime as it needs characters but I think it may have backfired for him a little.

I agree, maybe the monster he created may have become too much pressure for him.
For anybody to be able to have a crowd of many people against you and jeering you on a regular basis and not be affected must be made of stern stuff.

Who knows how much this can effect an individual after they have left the stage, as they are only human, but as I already said he created the monster and now needs to learn how to deal with it. Even if it all is an act to enhance his income, is the damage done.

The public can be so fickle. So is it possible to lose the act, and start again with a different persona and win the crowd over.

I think it is the Sky and PDC that have let it get out of hand, but cant see how they can control such large crowds now so its something the players need to get used to. I just think its so unfair when they start booing when a player is on a crucial Double.

Every time he walks on the stage, I want to see him get pummeled by his opponent. At the same time, if he could back up his bravado act and shoot like Taylor or Whitlock, I would take my hat off to him.

I got to tell ya. I don't dislike or hate any player! Just some I favor over others is all really.

I like him very much! He is a great player and a great character. When he is at the oche he is lethal. And I feel the same when I'm at the oche,

He gets much booing from the crowd and it have hurt his game. But when he comes over that, then he will be a big asset to the PDC and he will begin to win more and more

I have liked the guy from day one. As far as I'm concerned he's too nice to be the bad boy of darts. He's a force for the future, and good luck to him!

Good point Kev - I remember meeting him for the first time a few years ago in Atlanta. I was really surprised at what a soft-spoken, quirky guy he was - almost (and I am not being offensive) nerdy.

Very nice guy - quite different from what he wants to project on stage.

I don't know that much about him and to be honest until lately I have not bothered to watch many of his matches. I will say that he has a throwing style that intrigues me. As for being a pro player I do not believe him to be in the top 5 or even 10 and I think he will struggle to get there if he does. However, I give him all of the credit in the world for making it to the big stage. That is an accomplishment that deserves recognition in my opinion

I'm with you there Larry. I don't hate any player on the circuit....

But I do dislike Nicholsons walk on and the way he salutes. I don't hate it, just dislike it. I understand that he is trying to make a name for himself, weather that be as a villain or hero. That being said though I think he is a top bloke once the theatrics are over. He always seems to be gracious in victory and defeat.

I do however HATE Peter Snakebites Wrights hairdo's. All of them. He looks like a right plonker.....but as a man and a darts player I have nought but respect for him.

My only gripe about him was how he handled himself at the PDC World Cup after losing to Taylor and Lewis. Sure he was upset after having darts to win but him and Lewis were both out of line.
Other than that, I like watching him. Anytime someone talks a little smack it makes things more interesting from a fan's perspective.
