| Can't bring myself to believe he was drunk - but surely if it was a contact lense problem or something he could take a time-out or something? |

| Agree with you there Andy. He is supposed to be a pro, so I doubt he was that drunk. |

| It looks like the left side of his face was sagging. Almost like pre- stroke.
Hope it's not a medical issue.

| Thats a disgrace if he was that drunk that he couldnt perform. Spectators should demand a refund for having to watch that crap.
Im glad it didnt put MVG off his game. |

| Hankey should be ashamed of himself and make a public apology. That kind of behaviour is damaging for the game and should not be tolerated especially as it went out on live TV what were they thinking. I said some months ago the crowds were getting bad with their drinking and booing players as well as shouting when they are throwing but now if the players are going to be getting in this state what is the future of darts? I love this game but with half the players either stressed or narked i think they need a rethink of how many competitions there are as the travelling and pressure is getting too much for some. People knock the BDO but I think they have it about right with the amount of comps they run they just need a bit more prize money. |

| It looked to me like he was three sheets. If he had a medical issue, I retract all of the following...
But having said that, "We travel too much!" isn't an acceptable excuse for that. Look at any other pro sport - they all travel. City to city, country to country, game to game.
That's how it works: it's a professional sport, but it's also entertainment and that has to move from place to place to sell tickets.
Tickets = larger purses. Larger purses = more talent. More talent = moving this sport up into the same light as golf, football and tennis.
If Ted can't handle the pressure without the drink, he should retire because the youngsters coming up the ranks can handle it and are better for the sport as a whole.
I love Hankey. But if it turns out this was because he was drunk, this sport needs to seriously consider a ban alcohol prior to competition or it will never escape the "Bellies and Bullseyes" perception.
Maybe moving away from that would kill the game. I don't know. I live in the US, so it's not even considered a sport here (because we like a real chance for injury in our "sport" apparently <gag>". Maybe the crowds would disappear if there were nothing but 24 year old, three percent body fat, rugby-football-dart players on stage.
But even as an amateur alcoholic myself, I am ashamed of the sport I love for what I saw.
ffs, I average around 55...
Disgraceful... |

| Ted was an absolute disgrace tonight.....don't get me wrong...funny to watch but as a player he should have known better...no wonder he hasn't made it in the PDC this year...if he was on the chat on jtv i would ban him for life and he would deserve it :-( |

Do not forget darts is a pub game....people obviously drink and get drunk....but for a player to do that is wrong....the crowd were very good actually! I thought they would have erupted and demanded their money back!! |

| I would of if I was there. Its a pity that 1 person left a sour taste in our mouths. He almost single handedly spoilt what was a fantastic night of darts. |

I so wanted him to win tonight and the thing that came out was not capable of anything! If you didnt laugh you would have cried! |

| The PDC should never have put him on last game of the night when there is a free bar around. He was out of his skull - I reckon even I could have beaten him last night. He was even worse than Adams was at Lakeside at the start of this year lol.
Dear Uncle Barry, if you read this then 3 things:
1 - make a note to have a word with the bloke if you haven't already done so 2 - don't ever put Hankey on last ever again 3 - stop the free bar in the players lounge and start charging them £50 a pint - that would stop this sort of behaviour |

| Make the players drive themselves to the venue, that way they cant get hammered cos they still have to drive home.
Works for me on league nights. |
