Well what can i say, so far this years season has been not good ?? Last season we walked the summer season, did,nt loose all season won every game, and got runners up in the winter season, beating teams eaisly with good scores, yet 2012 season, were played four games, lost two won two, and thorugh to the next round of the cup, i just dont whats happening, its like the team is a different team and were not playing as were should be, i just car,nt put my finger on it why were doing so bad. Yes you car,nt win all the time, but were loosing against teams who we can beat but loosing against, its frustrating, but as they say, thats DARTS lol.... I just hope its just a early season thing and were start to preform well soon and start to win more games, lets just hope so and lets see.

I guess its just one of those things, maybe everyone in the team is not playing their best or its just the other teams are doing a little better this time.
Hard to know why these things happen really.

As it was so easy last season it's most likely your guys aren't firing on all cylinders this season thinking it will be just turn up and you get the points. Unfortunately it doesn't always work that way lol.
Good luck for tonight

Can fully relate to this. Last Season we came 3rd, semi's in the Cup and going along nicely. This Season we've already Lost 3 in the League, on the verge of going out in the Cup (need to Win 8-3 tonight) and lost to a team that have only Won 1 game in 3 Season against us!!
What's different this year?? New players in the team, team harmony not quite the same as last season, too many players playing well below last seasons form.
Just like individual form sometimes it happens in teams as well. Look at football, how often does a bad result or two end up spoiling the run of great form before it and then the downward spiral starts.
What I have noticed with our 4 losses (if you include last weeks cup game ) once we get off to a bad start, losing say the first 2 legs, we seem to just downward spiral for the rest of the game.
Last week we started off 2-0 down and the lads were as quiet as anything. I then Won in my doubles and trebles to make it 2-2 and suddenly the chirpiness was back with the lads.
Its ebbs and flows really, you need to try to keep the guys interested throughout the whole match and not let the fact that you're down a leg or two spoil the atmosphere. That's what I've noticed from ours this Season anyway.

Anytime new players are added or old ones leave it can change the chemistry. It takes time to gel and get comfortable. My league team has been pretty much the same for the last 10 years. We win games against teams that are more talented at times because we're more like a family and know how to pick each other up.

Great words there Robbie. A champion team will always beat a team of champions as they will play for each other.
@Chris. Try to get your guys cheering even when you arent winning. Its like body language. Your silence gives your opposition confidence as they can tell your guys are down.

You also have to keep in mind that when you run right through everybody like you guys did the season prior then the following season everybody is gunning for you trying to take you down. It puts a lot of pressure on yourselves when you are "the team to beat" even if it's not something you think about regularly it's always there in the backs of your minds. just my 2 cents....

I have never seen team darts, is there a good site to read up basic team rules, or is there a dartz nut with time to jot down some basics, ie,are there international rules, how many players in a team and the most games played. Legs and so on. I have a small group of players, and I would like to ask them to form a team. But first I need to know a bit about this part of the sport, we are only 01 players. Small steps,

Basically Kev it depends on your Local League has to what Rules they use as everywhere is different.
I play in 3 Leagues now - Mon, Tues and Fri's and each League plays different formats to the other. 2 play bust rule, 1 doesn't.
1 plays purely 1001 for all Singles, Doubles and Trebles, while another does 801 Trebles, 601 Doubles best of 3 and 501 Singles best of 5 matches.
There's other Leagues on the same nights that play different formats again.
As to number of players again Leagues differ. All my Leagues have a minimum of 6 players, but some Leagues only require a minimum of 3 players.
Try and find out who runs any of your local Leagues and see what they do and how you go about entering a team and good luck if you choose to do it as it's a great feeling on the night and even better when the team Wins.
ya right about the chemistry- my back hurts from carrying my team TBH ( not bragging) but almost all my losses is doubles example last nite: I averaged around 4 marks a round in cricket (not great but decent) me partner less than 1. We won btw. Dunno why I posted this hmmm. Robbie still waiting on ya grip pics! You saw mine.

Our league format consists of 3 doubles matches followed by 6 singles (all 01) with a minimum of 6 players per team. Almost half way through the season and were 1 point of top and still in the cups so hoping to keep it up and maybe lift a trophy or two this season. Its an improvement on last year, were we finished 6th.
@ Chris - As jimbo said, try and get the team supporting and cheering each other even if the thrower is having an off night. It helps to keep their head up and keep the belief
