| Maureen Flowers was the first female player who i really recall taking any note of back in the late 70's. Here's a look at her darts from 1978 and 1980: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| They must be very rare her darts, I have only ever seen one set but they were a Harrows set I think never seen the Unicorn Flowers although I did have an old set that were very similar so I was not sure if they were her dart or not. |

She was with Unicorn for a good few years (approx 78 to 83/84ish?). Found an old printed advert with no photo which shows a set of Durro Flowers darts for sale in 1983 so she must have been with Durro briefly too. Later of course signed up to Harrows with Eric Bristow which was no surprise. Never seen a set offered for sale and didn't know anyone at the time who bought them. That's no big surprise though if you think about it...you didn't have as many collectors about then and few blokes would of bought a set of "womens" darts back then! Got a better advert somewhere which must of been from her last year with Unicorn and has a good close up of the darts. Love to see a photo of a set someone owns. Any forum members either own some or used to?

I have an original set of 20gram durro maureen flowers set and and plus 21 durro bristows. How much do you think these are worth today?I always played with the Bristows set back in the early eightees and now they just sit doing nothing. My bristow case has vanished but the two sets are together in the maureen flowers case.darts look a bit green from not being used and one barrell needs a point having snapped when I last threw them about 30 years ago. cheers wispa180. |

Welcome to the forum! The Maureen Flowers darts could be worth a fair bit, possibly £60+ if you have the case they may even be worth £100+ of course the condition may affect how much you get and also depends on the interest. Durro Bristows could be £40+ but can sometimes make near the £100 mark, again depends on condition and how much of the original set up is left and also interest gathered. |

| Remember using the stems in the top photo, the tops were always breaking, you could cut the fibre glass stalk down to whatever length required, good but expensive. |

| I used to use those jetlite stems - I agree on the tops breaking, they were horrendous. Think I've still got a sets and some spare tops somewhere |

are you using Photobucket to host the images, the image hosting is running slow on the forum as the hosts are having problems. There is a guide here: http://www.dartsnutz.com/t2970-posting-images-forum-guide |

| Wispa I was thrown my darts for 30 odd years and would be still throwing them now if they had not been stolen. The old dart had more feeling in them if you know what I mean. The shiny dart of today has no character!! |
