| Here's a topic I haven't seen yet. When playing someone in a match and you played well and won, but your opponent just couldn't manage to hit a darn thing and is frustrated what do you tell him after the game? You really can't say good game cause #1 you know he didn't play good and #2 it might pee some people off by saying good game they might think your being sarcastic. Is thanks for playing a good response or just thanks, I dont really know what do you guys all say?? Hat |

| I usually in that situation would say 'unlucky'. I have been on the receiving end when playing pool, was cleaned out without getting a shot, lad broke off and potted the lot in one visit, I shook his hand and said 'well played mate' he replied, 'good game' - I nearly blew me top Hahhaha, I had been on the sauce, and spoke to him after, he actually said he understood as it obviously wasn't a good game but there you go. |

| I always start a match with a handshake or knuckle bump and say "Shoot well". I end the match with a handshake or knuckle bump and say good game.
If my opponent was obviously having an off round, I say "hope to see you on the way up".
Lose with grace win with humility. |

| In my main league when I win I say I'll have an Adnams please, and when I lose I say what you drinking. And if I know them well I say you were damned lucky there - it's his round and let my partner buy lol. My main league is a pairs league where the losers buy the beers |

| Since I know more or less all the players now in my Leagues I normally turn and cock my head to the side and say, "I know you can play better than that, caught you on an off day" and then shake their hand. They normally reply, "Yeh, but you played well there". |

| I'm the same as Chris. I know all my opponents, so it's just a quick thanks for the game mate. Sometimes I will say that I've seen them throw better than that and try to make light of their performance.
I never speak down to them or demean them. |

| Just depends on the situation If I win or lose in less than 20 darts and it's close, then i say "well played, close game, you played well etc." If i win or lose in 40+ darts i usually say "thank god that's over" If i get whipped then "Too good for me tonight." "Get you next time" There is one particular guy who tries every trick in the book to put you off when he's behind in a game including; counting up his score, doing math on an imaginary scoreboard and double checking with the scorer before taking his darts out; asking what score he has left after every dart even when he's 300+ and he's hitting single numbers; coughing; calling out, jingling the change, keys in his pocket etc. etc. etc. When i beat him i always say "Great game man you played a really good game, well done, i just got lucky!" |

| I say great game if it was or unlucky they just weren't going for you tonight were they. If it's a player that has been mouthing off I just say did I make you that nervous. I have had players refuse to shake my hand or not buy a beer but I will make a point of talking to them more then. I always shake the hand of my opponent win or lose or whether i play good or bad it's just courteous and shows respect. If someone is cheating by doing the dirty tricks I just stop my throw and ask them what they are doing and they get so embarrassed and generally stop it, but i did that once and the chap was so nervous that I don't think he could help it and he actually couldn't stop shaking, then i felt a bit embarrassed, but it all turned out ok in the end when i helped him to calm down but then he won the first leg so I wasn't having that so thrashed him 3-1. That will teach me to be bloody helpful eh!! |
