| All vintage darts collectors will recognize this feeling, when you like a set that much you have two sets and cant bring yourself to part with one. Mine happens to be the very rare Victory Spring Dart made in Perranporth, Cornwall. A very unusual dart made out of two tightly coiled springs. both my sets are in very good condition with there original boxes with original flights. Made to commemorate The R.A.F battle of Britain in WW2. the full story can be read in Dr darts News letter if you google Victory spring Darts. Keith Naylor claims in his eBay darts review that it took him 40 years to find a set, [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Bloody hell, actually managed to get the pictures on

| I guess you probably outbid me on those Neil I have seen a few on Ebay but never managed to win a set they are certainly unique, have you ever tried throwing them? Thanks for sharing too! |

| They look very unusual, look like they'd be fairly grippy aswell. What do they weigh in at? |

| No not tried throwing them Darren, had a serious accident 12 years ago, (hit by a car) I snapped the brachial plexus nerve in the top of my right arm, and cannot raise my arm or form a grip. I also received various other life changing injuries but the arm injury put a halt to my darts. I tried practicing left handed for a short while but found it so frustrating, its like every dart you throw is your 1st throw ever. but saying that Iv'e come across some inspirational stories on here such as wazza's, so I am seriously thinking maybe the time is right to set a bait up and try again. Never lost my love for the game.
But I dont think i'll be risking the vintage darts for a while mate, Lol
Never actually weighed them Fox but surprisingly quite light. if I had to guess id say somewhere around 22grms |

| Ah sorry to hear that Neil, I know you said before you were wheelchair bound but I thought you might have still been able to use your arm ok. I tried practising with my left when I injured my shoulder, it was exactly as you described but after a while I did get a bit better and was able to hit the odd T20 now and then but it always felt strange to throw with the left. |

| Damm, so your the one! I have bid on those a few times and like Darren have not had the pleasure to win them. They are a great looking set of darts and have been on my wish list. Being that you have two sets I think you should consider parting with one. It would go perfectly with my other WWII darts and dartboards I have in my collection. |

| They would have to be the strangest darts I have ever seen, but they are strangely good looking. |

| Fortunately Darren it didn't leave me in a wheelchair, but did receive serious leg, back injuries etc. I feel quite guilty owning two sets now, if I ever do decide to part with a set I shall certainly let it be known on here.
I would certainly have reservations about selling them on eBay, my biggest fear being that a certain individual may win them and then vandalize the box with a marker pen, then sell them on two days later as " from my own personal collection".
The way I view it is, though I pay cash for my vintage darts. I am only a custodian, a guardian of them if you like, and I have a responsibility to look after them, for the next generation of collectors.
And the seller with the marker pen, I don't think he's doing himself any favours and is possibly costing himself money. I refuse to bid on anything he defaces and possibly so do others, and I cant understand why if he must insist on this practice, why he cant scribble on a separate piece of paper and enclose it with the sale........Sorry guys rant over. Lol
Oh and Mark, the Nemesis for my collection is the Accudart Variant, a decent set of these has been top of my wishlist for a while, and though I have put high bids on a couple of sets on eBay, they have eluded me. |

| I know what you mean Neil, its historical vandalism. You maybe in luck with the Variants then, I think Mark has 2 sets so he may swap for your Victory darts? |

| I actually only have one set but maybe I will be willing to swap. There currently is a set on ebay now. Last night it had a Buy It Now for $95 which wasn't bad since they have been going for over $120 plus. This morning someone bid on them so we'll see how far it goes. It's at $65 right now.I know what you mean Neil about the fear of them falling into the wrong hands. I thought you were going to refer to another individual we all know and love to hate. (right Darren). They would be safe with me. |

I know exactly who you are on about !!!!!! Literally has my blood boiling ever time I see it !!! lol I also refuse to purchase anything from him as I believe he's only doing it for an ego boost, I'd never dream on defacing my collection. Back to the darts .... WoW, lovely set, I have seen a few sets of these over the years and they normally sell very well, I'm convinced I had a set of these when I was a kid, god knows where they ended (probably lost in the back garden !!) I have a set of the variants too, lovely darts - http://www.dartsnutz.com/t1835-accudart-variant |

| Would that be Mr Naylor who defaces the boxes? I'm new to this collecting game and even I don't like that lol. It's a bit different if it was the original owner marking the boxes to say who they belong to as it gives a bit of history, but what KN does as you say is just ego boosting.
As to the Victory Darts - I would love a set of these but fear they would be well out of my budget lol. Very nice (albeit strange) looking arrows. |

| I must say a set of variants in good condition could part me with a set of these, Iv'e seen a couple of sets go that I wouldn't bid on, battered boxes, bits missing, etc
mc1958 you hit the bullseye. Don't get me wrong, for example a set of Jim Pikes signed by Jim Pike would be great, its got to be relevant. I wouldn't even let Phil Taylor scribble over my vintage darts.
And you never Know, the person concerned just might come on here one day and see this thread, and realize, the damage he's doing. and take on board the comments of the collectors on here.
There again next time I see him selling another defaced set on eBay I might just click ask seller a question, and ask...What the bloody hell are you playing at? |

Those Soft tip Variants have got to be even rarer though. |
